I gotta give it to our institutions. People have been gobbling up the "war on drugs" narrative for decades despite the constant stream of reporting that proves it to be more appropriately a "proxy war via drugs" operation...
I truly appreciate the care and quality that Drop Site News takes to preserve a historical record of its investigations! I am confident that other colleague readers who are also scholars appreciate it.
For the benefit of those who are focused in other areas of life, I suggest a shorter report for those readers seeking to be informed, with a link to the full reports (like this one) for scholars whose focus requires them to seek more detail and documentation.
If Drop Site news was all I read, I probably would buy into your disagreement. Most of my reading is work-related in peer reviewed journals (unless these are your main sources, don't tell me about "attention span"). You don't read those like Substack blogs. I need to limit the amounts of time spent online to do both work and keep informed. My comment was for benefit of those who need to set boundaries too.
We HAVE to abolish the war on drugs and the war on terrorism! I’m convinced that every “drug cartel” and “Terrorist” organization is linked in some way to a three letter organization right here in the USA.
This reminds me of the Arms deal where an undercover FBI informant got an undercover CiA informant to sell him bombs. It was the craziest story.
I also think we need to ban these sting operations as they are all entrapment in my opinion!
Real life is way more interesting than movies. Holy shit amazing reporting.
The war on drugs. War, war, war. “Just say no.”

Disagree whole-heartedly. Attention spans are the problem, not reporting. AI and tik tok have destroyed our brains.

The war on drugs as a fight among competing cartels.
