We ought to reach out to AVAAZ with a 70+million membership asking them to distribute an emergency petition calling on the international community to fully support the Palestinian's demands. This could be the first step in actually implementing a 2 state solution and should be included in the petition as well. All I can state is that I hope we shall see a a free, flourishing Palestinian State after such travail for so long. Would the stipulations that UN troops, made up of international forces, to act as a peacekeeping force, excluding the USA and UK and Germany, immediately mobilize and respond to keep peace, should Israel violate the ceasefire and/or attack any essential infrastructure or sieze or destroy aide transport? Let the world support peace, even with citizen volunteers. This UN peacekeeping protection would go into effect with any resumption of bombing or failure to withdraw Isreli troops from October 6th 2023 positions. It would also allow food and medical aid and the entry of foreign medical personnel and provide money promised by the US and other nations, to pay for weapons to be used to repair hospitals and clinics, schools and community centers of support for health and education, services and centers for community relocation and planning. Let's pay for peace, not war. Let's assure the WORLD will come to protect the peace and reconstruction.
The UN is not a thing. It is something made up of all nations that join its ranks. The ability of any entity to help define both human rights, climate needs and to call out violations of economic, social and cultural needs of humanity, through research, advisement and goal setting, is invaluable. This help and guidance can and should do more, even in doing the job of telling truths to powers, if people choose to listen while that message is sent. I personally met the man who revolutionized the Child Immunization Program, internationally, in the 1980s. He was an American named Jim, Jim made it his goal, as a UN Officer serving in Kenya at the time, to protect millions of kids from preventable disease. Countless others, from all nations, do this kind of vital work, around the globe, in many ways. The UN food program for food to refugees in war zones, is another example. We saw what happens when others run such a program. Owned or not by Big Business, the work they DO versus what they might not do or do in the service of harm, makes us all think of better ways to function in our lives and work, what we give to support and what is done with it. Obviously there are a lot worse institutions to emmulate.
