“This is so indicative of the approach that the Americans have taken, that the Israelis have taken, and that effectively the world has taken, which is that **it’s all about front loading Israeli security**. And then who cares about Palestinians in the end?” said Buttu. “They’ve completely ignored genocide, they’ve completely ignored the bigger picture of what’s happening to the two million people that are in Gaza. And if we don’t agree on every single word and every single I that’s dotted and T crossed, then Palestinians are just going to continue to starve.”
No rational and honest human could argue against this. No one.
"No rational and honest human could argue against this. No one." Well, I think every caring and rational person would, answer should, argue against the abomination that is being depicted.
I don't change what words people say into things I am more in agreement with, so I am basing my comment on the content presented. Perhaps you meant the truth of what is being said is something that can't honestly be argued against? That is something quite different than what was said. I am not trying to find fault, it's just that I have a very strong need to clarify.
Where is the International Peace-Keeping Force in all this. Nations around the world need to deploy their military to protect Palestinians and I suspect there will be volunteers from every nation, military and civilian, men and women ready to serve to protect this vulnerable population, many women and children, oversee the opening of the gates for aide and volunteering to assist in providing temporary housing. The need to occupy the illegal settlements Israel has built in Palestien and to turn these over for homes and businesses and to make return to agricultural areas safe. If a safe and just reparations are needed, it will cost Israel dearly to attack the Peacekeepers and their nations, to disrupt a peacekeeping effort that can succeed. Isreli citizens should return to Israel's proper boundaries established in the past and also leave Lebanon to make and support Peace in the region.
There is no International Peace keeping force. When Trump , somehow , got the UN to accept the BoP as legitimate it was game over. Largely speaking the world’s governments have thrown the Palestinians to the wolves.
Let this be a lesson to all of us - because they are coming for all of us and if they can’t bomb you into submission and destroy your infrastructure so you walk away from the ruins of your home they will render you invisible and you will blow away like dust on the wind.
The UN can coordinate volunteers from every nation. There was no Military force fighting Franco's take over in Spain but volunteers were organized before WW11 and can be recognized by the Board of Peace to take on the task of protection and resettlement. Unless you think Trump and his incompetent cronies can do this, best to rely on organizes and justice activists, under the auspices of their nation's citizens and of their governmrnt or their faith community and humanitarian organizations to protect Palestinians and Lebanese populations, This Army for peace works and involves the world community that mobilized several flotillas and an international march, in the past, to make a difference. If this Board of Peace has ANY power, at all, let them involve these citizens of the world in recovery of Palestine.
Demand of all candidates here in the US that they support US intervention to end the genocide and protect returning refugees or refuse to support or vote for them.
Thanks for the excellent, though depressing, summary of the current situation in Gaza. It is clear that neither the US government nor the Israeli government has any interest in preserving human rights! If the Gaza crisis is to be solved in a just and humane manner, the remaining nations of the world will need to act. It is hugely disappointing that the nations of Europe have, with a few exceptions, displayed indifference or worse to the enormous human rights abuses committed by the Israeli government. The defense of human rights cannot be selective. It must apply to everyone. Otherwise, it is nothing but the most dangerous kind of hypocrisy.
Call on Pope Leo XIV to do whatever it takes to save Gaza and stop the bombing, and end the starvation. Let him go to Gaza and stand with the suffering people who are being massacred by Israel and the Western posers. He can go to Gaza right now, and insist aid be allowed in. Then on to the West Bank to end the occupation and apartheid.
Is there anything more important in today's world than this?
Let Iran recover from the current mess after which there is hope they will be able to hold Israel to abide by their commitments. There is no hope from the rest of the world.
These Palestinian militias under Israeli control are just another horror the poor Palestinians have to try and live with. I can't begin to understand the depression these people must have.
What this reporting makes unmistakable is that Trump’s “Board of Peace” is not a peace mechanism at all, but a privatized veto power designed to impose the political surrender Israel couldn’t win on the battlefield. The documents show a pattern: every Palestinian obligation is rewritten, expanded, or front‑loaded, while Israeli obligations are diluted into vague “conditions” with no enforcement. As the article notes, the board’s revisions transform the process into “a roadmap for the comprehensive dismantlement of Palestinian armed resistance,” even though, as Netanyahu himself admitted, “There’s practically no heavy weapons in Gaza.”
The core of the scheme is simple: strip Palestinians of any means of self‑defense while Israel continues to kill, occupy, and annex with impunity. The board even removes references to statehood and international law, replacing them with the empty promise of “creating conditions for a credible pathway.” In other words, permanent subordination dressed up as diplomacy.
This is not negotiation — it’s coercion under the shadow of genocide. And it confirms what Palestinians and honest analysts have said for decades: when the U.S. outsources “peace” to actors aligned with Israeli policy, the outcome is predetermined. The only thing being stabilized here is Israel’s power to decide, indefinitely, how much freedom Palestinians are allowed to imagine.
Excellent effort to return the public's eye back onto the still overriding issue, that of stopping the genocide against the Palestinian people, and the most acute example of that is happening in Gaza. Keeping that topic off people's minds is the means, destroying Gaza is the objective
More important than ever that the search for justice continues! The work that the Hind Rajab Foundation is doing to track down and bring Israeli criminals to justice is one that is vital in the effort to hold Israel accountable. Let us hope they will also turn their sights on the criminal leaders of the countries of the west who are co-perpetrators of these crimes.
