Every word from beginning to end just NAILS it! I just made a donation. I wish it could have been more! I thought I was donating monthly and noticed I'm not so I will rectify that!! If there's a fund for the families of Anas al-Sharif and the heroes that were with him, I'd like to know and help.

I haven't trusted John Simpson (BBC journalist) since he helped the demonisation of Col. Maummar Gaddafi about four years ago when Libya was overthrown destroying an independent Arab country. Simpson reported a meeting he had had with Gaddafi when all he could say on mainstream media was how Gaddafi was farting. Even if true, which I doubt, I thought this was in extremely bad taste.

As a journalist, I also share in the shame of our profession. A senior executive who lost his Ivy League position over the trumped up antisemitism allegations recently told me that only independent journalism is telling the truth these days. And this guy is no left wing ideologue.

Anyway, thanks to Jeremy for so eloquently expressing the rage that has had me in a downward spiral all week.

i cannot thank you enough for still finding the words to express what defies expression! if it wasn't for drop site and other courageous alternative media i'd be miserably dis- and misinformed!

i have long been ashamed of my EU country's media, its intellectuals and all its elected officials who lack the courage, or the decency, to CONDEMN israel's murderous occupation of palestinian land and to SANCTION the perpetrators according to int'l law.

israel CON_tinues to bomb yemen, lebanon, syria, too - and my country's decision makers still talk about "its right to self-defense!" [or that israel "does the dirty work for us in iran".] NO. int'l law states that an occupying country does NOT have the right to defend itself outside of its nat'l territory. but western/ global northern shameless hypocrites invoke int'l law only when russia or china break it ...

my deepest condolences to the families of ALL the victims of israel's ruthless, relentless killings!
