The policy of starvation is totally undefencable. Israelies have been treated with more than enough of mankind's in-humanity to fully understand what they are doing. IT MUST STOP.
Colonial settler states are intrinsically <genocidal> and the sooner we face up to that the better. They like us are living on stolen land- period: Don't make excuses for a country that began with genocide and has been at it ever since. It was created and is sustained ONLY because it serves U.S. imperial interests: the rest is B.S. If we've (you and I) been blinded by neo-colonial lies like "the only democracy in..."..That is on Us: It is WE who must fight it, you and me (a Jewish American w. close family in apartheid-ville. Help us..and <excuses> don't help either Jewish Israelis who are in murderous denial, or Palestinians.
Agree that it must stop, but calling it “totally indefensible” ignores history. Starvation has always been one of the simplest and most effective tools in war.
Almost every siege in history looked like this. Take the siege of Leningrad: millions starved until supply lines opened across the frozen lake. Sieges existed long before I was born and they will exist long after. If humans wipe each other out and crows take over, they will end up doing the same thing, cut supplies, wait, and starve out the enemy, because it is the rational solution to a problem.
The point is not just that it was used in history, but that siege and starvation are strategies as old as the first walled settlement, and still today they remain one of the most rational and enduring ways to conquer while preserving your own forces.
This approach will always exist. It is not even unique to humans: ants, especially army ants, deliberately cut off rivals’ access to food to weaken and then overrun their colonies. That shows the logic of starvation as conquest is universal in nature. Any intelligent species that develops warfare will inevitably arrive at the same strategy, because it is a rational solution that emerges wherever survival and conflict exist.
That does not make it humane. It makes it effective. And if you value rationality in warfare, effectiveness is the core of what makes a strategy “defensible.”
I’m sure your version of history is full of fairytale knights saving damsels in distress, with everyone singing kumbaya and holding hands.
In reality, people are hyper aggressive, territorial, social primates, slightly smarter monkeys with a profane ability to elevate abstract values to the level of reality.
I don’t condemn ants for starving out their rivals, and I won’t pretend humans, just another primate colony, are any different.
Don't do the Zios a favor by going along with their dishonest conflation of Israel with Jews. Most Jews don't live in Israel and are not represented by Israel, in spite of its claim.
I think you’re way off. By far, communists hold the record for mass starvation. The Great Leap Forward in China between 1958 and 1962 killed about 40 million people. The Holodomor in Ukraine in 1932 and 1933 killed about 8 million. Collectivization in the USSR from 1928 to 1940 killed up to 20 million. The North Korean famine between 1994 and 1998 killed somewhere between 600,000 and 3 million.
And those are just the biggest ones. Add Cambodia, Vietnam, and other communist regimes, and the body count climbs even higher.
The USA-Israeli Axis is operated by thousands of Miller-Eichmanns with salivations from millions of White Volks. Genocide has long been a banality under soul-crunching capitalism. Where is love? Fled the solar system in horror.
I cannot imagine how terrible it is to look at your child and you cannot feed him or her, and in many cases, like the poor mother in this article, here, parents have to witness the death of more than one child. It is unacceptable.
I am ashamed to be living in America. Our "leaders" are lecherous, cowardly, murderous thugs.
The evil D.Trump proclaimed child murderer Netanyahu "a war hero", and then proclaimed himself a war hero also. Cowardly, nasty little boys, cheering on the destruction and starvation of an entire race of people. I would love to see these two psychopathic goons dropped over Gaza, and surround them with Hamas resistance forces. We'd soon find out what war heroes they really are.
It's painful to read about - imagine living in this chronic torture and trauma! Thank you for this article Abdel and Sharif. Individual stories are so powerful and each testimony so important.
Join the protests on streets to push all our Governments to act. Govts signed up to the Geneva convention have a responsibility to act to prevent Genocide (I am sure I heard Omar Bartov say that in an interview), let alone when everyone with half a brain knows this is absolute Genocide with absolute certainty and so many were worried it would be from very early on due to Israeli actions and rhetoric.
On 'Inside Story' on Aljazeera Muhammad Shehada ( I hope I haven't got the spelling of his name wrong) was on with Daniel Levy and Shehada brought up some some actions that would cause real consequences for example holiday visas for Israeli's in Greece and Prague would even have a huge impact not being able to take a holiday from Genocide. We can cause real world life consequences for Israel without the US in many ways. Ban them from sporting events! Grow the list of isolations and economic consequences. I don't care if my country has to feel pain from more Tariff sanctions. That difficulty is nothing we can't get around through working with others. Trump can only throw that so far if countries work with each other.
Why should they get to live life in ways that Palestinians cannot? Israeli Zionists must be made to feel consequences in their lives.
...and the mainstream media, the so-called legacy media, has nothing at all to say. Where is the outrage from the various churches? The U.S. airlifted supplies into occupied and surrounded Berlin not so long ago. The people of Palestine living in Gaza and the West Bank are in more dire straits. Under the policies of Netanyahu with the full support of the U.S. is killing Palestinian men, women , and children who have done nothing .
The deliberate starvation of children is but the most extreme of countless inhumanities, deprivations, and humiliations heaped upon the Gazans since 1948, and 2007, and since Oct. 7th. Increasingly they amounted not only to immediate and proximate detriments to daily existence, but to ZERO - as in NO - life prospects for younger generations. No education. No worthwhile employment. No concept of approaching anything near one's potentials. It all resulted in little more than a biological existence until death.
And all this was imposed, indiscriminately, by a power that has no standing, no legal basis whatsoever, to determine the fates of 2.2 million souls.
For some perspective, it needs to be recognized that only 3km, under 2 miles, from the separation wall surrounding Gaza the Supernova music festival was taking place, easily within earshot of the residents of Gaza as young Israelis partied and reveled, having a wonderful time for themselves, while Gazans starved and suffered.
Had I been a Gazan, especially the parent of young children, assessing my children's prospects versus those of partygoers, I might pause only briefly - long enough to say good-bye to my loved ones - to seek retribution on those taking away the lives of my family, my relatives, my friends, my countrymen. It would not bother me in the least to kill whatever Israeli I came across as part of the Hamas attack on Israel, IDF soldiers of course, but even the civilians, who are living the good life off that of people dear to me. They are ending those lives, of innocents, whether immediately or over a longer stretch of time, thus it is just to end theirs - before I get gunned down, or exploded to bits, as my life has come to, or more accurately been reduced to, that by forces outside my control
That is the horror that Israel has created on earth. L'chaim!, "to life!" is how that familiar expression goes? Bulls***, it's Le-mavert! "to death!" of others, that's celebrated by these warped beings to sate their own lives, who can lay no claim to being called "people." There is little if any guilt or blame I can attach to those Gazans who attacked Israel on Oct. 7th.
Everytime I read of the starvation of children in Gaza , I simply dont understand why Israels neighbors Jordon, Saudi Arabia, Egypt etc don't storm the gates and come to the aid of the children - at least the children. They must be aware that given the chance, Israeli would do the same thing to their children. Of course, to be fair, Americans, French, Germans, etc - all of the civilized world in other words, aren't storming the gates either.
Where are people like the Mothers of the Plaza de Mayo who marched for years demanding information about their children who disappeared during the Argentinian m ilitary dictatorship . Their lives were in danger but they did it anyway and became a powerful international symbol of the fight for justice.
There is no excuse for genocide-period. It is not being perpetrated by Jordan or anyone but your and my tax dollars through out bought-out politicians. GENOCIDE IS AN ISRAELI Project, from 1948, and it has never stopped, so stop trying to change the subject. You see the mass slaughter and deliberate starvation: don't shift blame. U.S. and its client colonial settler state-period!
Additionally, how did you not observe the Lebanese Hezbollah attack Israel on behalf of Gaza, knowing they faced a far superior force that would wreck Lebanon- but they fought hard and then there's the Yemenis: the poorest of Arab countries has fought valliently against the Israeli genocide Goliath; and paid with many lives. So what kind of crappy new do you watch that didn't tell you this?
I completely agree and I do not understand it either. This is not just a Jewish Israeli genocide of the Palestinian people but a western and an Arab genocide. Jews, Christians and Muslims are all equally culpable and guilty of this great crime. Peter Beinart just wrote an excellent and soul searching book entitled “Being Jewish After Gaza”. Adherents of the other Abrahamic faiths need to also ask what being Christian or Muslim means anymore in light of Gaza. Indeed all humanity must ask what being human means anymore. What Israel is doing is defiling the memory of the 6 million Jews and 5 million others who were systematically slaughtered by the Germans in the 30s and 40s. They also make a mockery of the many Holocaust and genocide study centers and memorials around the world. Might as well shut them all down as we have learned nothing. Just build a cenotaph to memorialize those whom the Germans murdered and leave it at that. I am beyond disgusted with where humanity has now descended.
Please show us one quote in which Beinart in which he states anything like what you imply he said, "This is not just a Jewish Israeli genocide of the Palestinian people but a western and an Arab genocide. Jews, Christians and Muslims are all equally culpable and guilty of this great crime." B.S.! This is an Israeli genocide backed by the U.S. You are trying to change the subject from '<Israeli genocide>. I read that entire book cover to cover and he says Nothing like what you say. Saying "other ...faiths need to blah blah question". is your attempt to muddy the waters of Israeli criminality, and THAT IS HOW WE GOT HERE: ISRAELI IMPUNITY. STOP!
"Jews kill kids."...No, colonial settler states in the service of colonial imperialism kills kids. The Germans in WWII killed kids, the Japanese empire killed kids. Kids are dying now in different parts of the world. If Israel kills it is in the service of an American empire: why do you think we give them billions of dollars of weapons? The U.S. empire wants to maintain control of the Persian Gulf oil and the Suez Canal, its spigot to EU.. Not all that mystical. So do get sucked into <real> anti-Jewishness. There are more Jews living outside Israel than in.....think it through.
The Israelis are not just greedy. They are sadistic. Just like the German Third Reich. Very, very sad. It doesn't have to be this way, if only Israel had any capacity for self examination and self criticism. In order to practice this level of sadism you need to be totally self enclosed. And then you can project the bad part of you that is committing genocide onto your victim.
It is, of course, all about the money with them. That is all they live for. Capitalism has the capacity to block any and all generosity in redistribution of the wealth. As an ideology it easily turns into total selfishness, which breaks the social bonds, and ultimately destroys the country. If you are going to have capitalism, it is also necessary to teach economic behavior that favors the whole people, and not just a monied elite. The US, when I was growing up in the wake of FDR and the New Deal, expressed humane concern for lifting the bottom who are not prospering in a highly competitive society. Now, the extreme capitalists have taken over and are engorging themselves with wealth to the detriment of everyone else.
I don't understand why the Arab nations surrounding Palestine/Gaza don't come to its defense. If all of them stood up to Israel/US together, the US couldn't go after them all. Also, Israel's announced that its expansion plans include parts of many of these countries - karma for their lack of action on Gaza.
Israel should not exist. It's a blight on humanity and the world.
It is unrealistic to expect the neighbors to handle this. Lebanon is tied down with Hezbollah, which it would prefer to disarm rather than empower. Syria is a failed state, fragmented and ruled over by actual jihadist factions, struggling just to hold together.
Then you have Egypt and Jordan. Both survive on substantial US financial aid, if that were cut off, their regimes could collapse. And neither likes Hamas. In Egypt, Hamas is tied to the Muslim Brotherhood, which the state already considers an enemy. Egypt is still fighting an Islamist insurgency in the Sinai, and jumping into Gaza would only worsen that.
Jordan knows very well what Palestinian leadership is like, and they have no reason to sacrifice their stability for Hamas or other factions.
There are many lenses to view this through: humanitarian, geopolitical, internal politics, economics, military. But the truth is simple, for these regimes, the costs of intervention far outweigh any benefits. It is what it is.
So very interesting that a recurring theme in the comments are people trying to soften the blow to their consciences by shifting blame: it's Egypt, it's a failure of the world's religions, "why didn't neighbors storm the gates". What if it were a helpless woman in your neighbor's house who was being killed? Would you blame the murderer or the neighbors? But here, everyone wants to blame everyone but the perpetrator: Israel! The highest officials announce on October 9,2023, that they would withhold water, food, medicine.....announced on TV to the world, and it is backed by a huge majority of Jewish Israelis, so.....we need to paper over a genocide by making excuses. The evidence is right in front of you but you shift the blame like screaming "Karens". What the hell is wrong with you people?
I have tried hard to write what I think and feel as well as my education and ability allow...but I think I need to pare it down and simplify it...so I will....."and those lying bastards deny there is famine". my heart goes out to the criminally wronged Palestinians...the adults and all hose beautiful children. My absolute hatred I direct endlessly and totally against all those that permit this! They must be sub-human.
I am not a hater...I think you are not quite well...but best wishes all the same. I do hate this immense long-lived injustice; you seem to enjoy conflict...even with those on your side...but never mind...takes all sorts.
What I meant was by sub-human is that people without compassion, what some people say are heartless...I suppose you'll make the idiotic reply that no-one could live without a heart etc, but try not to be so pedantic and try not to be so rude. Take Care.
The policy of starvation is totally undefencable. Israelies have been treated with more than enough of mankind's in-humanity to fully understand what they are doing. IT MUST STOP.

Why would you take the word of the bible?

It's rational, but it is inhumane.
Both of these can exist in the same time

International corporate media is partially to blame. They are whitewashing Israeli crimes and spreading their lies.

May God’s curse be on these Zio animals. Even animals don’t treat other animals like that.
This is beyond horrific. We have to keep trying- but it seems like nothing we do has an
impact- but we can't give into despair when Gazans are trying so hard to survive this.
Why can't anyone legally stop this. The whole world is appalled. Is there no one who who has the authority to DO SOMETHING?
