In a wide-ranging interview with Drop Site, the senior Hamas leader discusses negotiation strategy, why disarmament is a red line, his direct talks with U.S. officials, and more.
Now this is journalism. Thank you for interviewing and publishing. This is why I contribute to Drop Site News. I wish everyone could read this especially people in our govt who have such bigoted misinformed views about Hamas and Palestine and most things in the world. ✌️
I dont get it with trump. He wants to be the leader who brings peace in the middle east but isnt doibg anything to achieve the goal.
I have a question, would be nice if you could answer that. Hamas has offered a proposal about to release all of the hostages at once for a 5y truce and the idf leaving gaza. What is the trump side thinking about that? Do they know about this offer?
Donald Trump wants to be loved. If today he thinks people will love him for peace, he'll try it. If tomorrow he thinks they'll love him for war, he'll try that.
So many people fall for the lies about Hamas without ever giving them a chance. He sounds like an intelligent reasonable human being who only wants to do what’s best for his people which is way more than can be said for any of the monsters on the other side!
Thank you Jeremy, you have done what no "journalist" would do - you got the real story!
There can be no appeasing the world's most exceptional nation (if I can call it that), the Zionist entity, since they can't be trusted (and nether can the Trump regime). With the breakdown of the "rules-based order," yes, it is now The Jungle.
There will never be peace in west Asia until there is a two state solution and isntreal stops stealing, coveting, killing and starving its neighbours. Time to comprehend what Respect means.
Thank you, for a very balanced and informative article. I totally agree with the conclusion that if the Palestinians get rid of the occupiers and establish a free Palestine, it will be an important turn in international history, expressing a kind of balanced justice in the world that has been conspicuously missing for oppressed people's. I heard someone state that the Palestinians are like the canary in the coal mine.
Jeremy, you've been a top flight journalist since your early days at Democracy Now! You're at the top of your profession with this interview, in my opinion. And, by not putting it behind a paywall, it's available to any entity that wants to better understand the Hamas perspective. Saying this is terrific journalism is an understatement. Thank you.
Now a special request: please be cautious and be safe. You know as well as anyone that just like the 214 journalists in Gaza (and, tragically, no doubt still counting) who've been targeted and killed to date, reporting of this nature may very likely put a target on you. I'm not saying this for dramatic purposes. It's simply the fact as it relates to the ways the Trump administration and the Netanyahu administration operate. So, please avail yourself of every reasonable precaution, and please continue doing this kind of truly outstanding journalism.
Jeremy Scahill is a top-notch journalist!

Thankyou Jeremy for publishing this interview. It is most informative.
Outstanding reporting fromJeremy Scahill and Drop Site, as always. Thank you.
Great interview with Dr.Osama Hamdan.
I wish it could be picked up by some daring non Zionist controled MSN reporter to get it out to the public.
We in the West seem to be living under Israeli occupation.

The Trump administration will need to show a win soon, No?
Here is an opportunity for Peace that they can produce quickly.
When I hear we shouldn’t talk to someone, makes me think, I need to hear what they have to say! Thanks for your courageous reporting!
