Why call Palestinians taken by Israel “detainees”? They are not “detained”. They are taken as hostages. This perpetuates the double-standard most western media takes with Palestinians versus Israelis. I like Drop Site, but let’s not use CNN’s unbalanced terminology.
""The total recorded death toll since October 7, 2023 is now 68,234 killed""
I always deeply dislike it when articles publish this number.
At this point, anyone/everyone who reads, listens-to, non-corporate/non-mainstream media knows just how completely ludicrous that number actually is (and it was ludicrous when The Lancet, a highly respected medical journal, estimated the death toll near 200,000... and that was like a year and a half ago!!).
I truly feel that just the publishing, itself (just the act of publishing it), of Israel's ridiculous death toll alone actually feeds right into Israel's/propagandists' game plan. Anyone paying even the slightest bit of attention, has to reasonably/logically assume (I mean all one has to do is just look at photos of the absolute total devastation/decimation of the land, Gaza... there used to be like 2.4 million human beings living in that relatively small space... its basically leveled!) that the Palestinian death toll, by now, LONG after Lancet's estimation, is easily nearing a half million, and would not be surprising at all if it was actually substantially/far more (especially considering the ensuing deaths from the effects of starvation).
A better way for independent media articles to write/mention the issue of the death toll, is to replace that fictional, made up "68,234" number with something along the lines of "many experts feel the actual death toll is a half million or more...".
And one more thing, since I'm on the topic of death tolls, does anyone who's reading this comment, or happens upon it, happen to know the Israeli death toll? I mean the U.S. mainstream media never mentions the number of Israelis who have died genocide-ing the Palestinians, and yet... ALWAYS refers to this absolute genocide as a "war". I mean c'mon, seriously, who's ever heard of calling something a "war" in which one side suffers a half million or more deaths and the other side maybe a couple hundred or couple thousand... that's not a war! It's a wholesale slaughter... and actually, now that I think about... that must be why the Palestinian death toll that Israel allows to be published always remains around the 50,000 number... because to publish the actual number, like a half million, 500,000, maybe 750,000?, would be far too grotesque/gruesome for the world to accept... most of the world (outside of the U.S. and its vassal countries) already can't accept their allowable fictitious public number.

Where is the international call for Identification lists of names & family ties to match this first dribble of public information on the targeted and carpet bombing of Gaza in what has been a rather one-sided war of one nation with a state-of-the-art air and space force v. among the most impoverished stateless nations on earth?
Egypt and Jordan are among the few neighboring states that even deploy an air force. Lebanon and Syria have been governmental basket cases and vital trade routes feeding western tastes in all things legal and illicit. Turkey, among the more stable governments is trying to remain above all regional frays despite the threat of major instability it courts as it hosts ever more restive stateless nations (the Kurds, Yazidis, Alevi\Alawis, Nabatteans and major North African groups including Nubian, Eritrean, Ethiopian active internal conflicts that in each of those nation-states have become Hot Wars and weapons trading routes along with homegrown fleeing populations risking all familial life and wealth setting off across the Mediterranean in the rushing of Euro borders which has done little for Muddle Eastern stability. Just asking if international accountability counts for anything in the overall Regional Displacement reports and prognositcations. Especially as European Union and UK governments can easily be flipped under the pressures of such a massive HUMANITARIAN CRISIS of DISPLACEMENT.
Children starving, rubble unclaimed, lives lost. Gaza’s crisis demands our eyes, our voices, and our action

Journalists asked Trump about this - he didn't have a clue what they were talking about, but NYT went ahead and published it anyway.

If Donald Trump were a Russian asset, how would youexpect him to behave ?...............oh..........
Trumps demand for money from DOJ is crazy. His trials never were dismissed, with prejudice.
As Q10 said, Trumps trials were fair and square. He is always looking to make a profit for himself and feels the world owes him everything.
It seems that Israel does not understand ceasefire. It means to stop hostilities and killings.
Maybe if that term is translated into Hebrew, Israel will understand.
