This is a poorly written article strictly from the perspective of kurdish militants without any input from the majority Arab population living under SDF who reportedly suffered from oppression including torture and murder by the militia for simply expressing support for president Al Sharaa. I expect better from drop site than this. The Syrian govt gave SDF many concessions in negotiations and SDF reneged every time. At a certain point, you abide by agreements or your negotiating partner runs out of patience. The fact that all Arab tribes defected from SDF speaks volumes.

This piece really underscores how “integration” is being used as a euphemism for surrender. Demanding the immediate dissolution of the SDF and the liquidation of DAANES institutions was never a serious basis for negotiations—it was an ultimatum. Given the documented role the SDF played in defeating ISIS and stabilizing the region, the speed with which former allies are now willing to abandon them speaks volumes about how expendable Kurdish autonomy remains in regional and international calculations.
