Thank you for this great piece, Jeremy and Jawa. No western country or Israel would ever be prepared to renounce their right to resist occupation by armed resistance, and yet this is exactly what is being asked of the Palestinians, even though the Palestinians are being subjected to genocide by Israel. This 'plan' by the US and Israeli genocidaires also, predictably, contains no sanction against Israel whatsoever and no requirement for Israel to disarm, even though it's a mad dog extremist state that has committed genocide and attacked multiple other countries in just the last year. There is zero chance of this ridiculous colonialist plan being accepted by the Palestinians. Resistance against the empire will continue, by more and more decent-minded people across the world. All empires fall and this one will also.
The ony question that remains is when and for what BS reason that Israel will blame Hamas and "finish the job". This is not a plan, it is an one sided ultimatum. And so much for the non annexation of the West Bank being removed from the "plan". Which is yet another example of Trump lying his ass off.
Powerful piece. The Trump–Netanyahu framework reads less like a negotiated settlement and more like an endorsement of extrajudicial outcomes already pursued on the battlefield. Resuming aid while codifying Israeli footprint inside Gaza, insisting on disarmament before withdrawal, and excluding Palestinian representation is a recipe for permanent dependency, demographic engineering, and renewed violence. If international actors truly want peace, they must insist on: (1) Palestinian inclusion in talks; (2) independent, enforceable monitoring with consequences for violations; (3) a clear timeline to elections and self-determination; and (4) accountability for alleged war crimes. Anything less will be a temporary pause that fails to address the root causes and only emboldens impunity.
"They" don't want peace. And international "actors" is an apt phrase. It's kabuki theater: there's no real intention of changing their intended outcome. Greater Israel and the elimination of the Palestinian people has always been the goal. October 7 was just the cover they needed, and I'll never be convinced that Bibi and his cabal weren't in on it.
The only thing that's going to put a stop to Trump and Netanyahu's genocide of the Palestinian people and their grotesque grab for Palestinian land is if the United Nations General Assembly passes the "Uniting for Peace" resolution. History has repeatedly shown that the Zionists' cannot be trusted to live peacefully alongside anyone. So if they are successful in ethnically clearing all of Palestine, watch out Lebanon, Syria, Turkey, Egypt. No one in the region will be safe from the evil which is Zionism.
"In reality, Israeli officials were deeply involved with crafting the proposal right up to the moment the White House released the text."
The facade here is that this is a Trump-Netanyahu plan -- but all signs are clear that this is an Israeli plan dictated to the White House. Israel controls our nation's leadership, including the White House and Congress, and that is plainly evident here.
Taking a step back from this plan -- and thanks Jeremy and Jawa for a comprehensive report! -- the reality is that Israel has no end game in sight, neither do we as a nation. Military power never leads to long-term peace, maybe a pyrrhic victory, but that turns into a defeat eventually.
We can only hope that Israel will eventually face the reality that its brutality and belligerence has not bought any peace, and a new generation, and new leadership, will try another way to live with its neighbors in peace.
Whopper article. Thanks for your hard work Drop Site team. I am positive your work pressured Microsoft recently too.
My god, my head is in my hands, this feels like a rehash of old events combined with genocide and ultimatums of annihilation. They end up doing more of the same to Palestinians but brazenly braggingly worse, and revoltingly so openly approved by western countries and even middle eastern ones.
God, that was hard to read - it just makes me sick. Over and over history is repeating itself - a history that Israel knows full well (not being responsible for anything, and leaving open doors in the agreement so they can finish the job). Trump clearly has no idea about the history. What an impossible situation for the Palestinians. And having Tony Blair in the picture ?!? Where is my puking face imogi? So disgusting. This HAS to shift away from Israel and the US. The US has supported Israel in their oppression and Butchery and lies - time and again. And we ALL know it. So where are the other world leaders? Take some action on your recognition of Palestine! When are they going to step up and put Israel up against the wall and make them accountable for their actions - like stealing land, starving people - massacre upon Massacre. And honestly - shame on the Arab countries involved in this - Shame on Egypt and the UAE (Jordan of course). Qatar - WTF?! We are not idiots and we have had enough of this bullshit! We are not going to sit back and watch the Palestinians get erased.
Your reporting shines a glaring light on mainstream gloss-over. Thank you. What would it take, what would be the steps that could lead to the UNGA 'Uniting for Peace" initiative someone mentioned below? Like a family intervention, US & Israel need to be confronted by all interested nations, exposing the obvious, and requiring a cease and desist. Isn't there some kind of LEVERAGE to use, if enough leaders got committed to this? what would that leverage be?

Trump and retinue needs to go Now.
To hell with the ethno supremist Jewish state of Isreal.
May the people of Palestine
find peace in their homeland.
I don't think we expected anything other than this bs plan.

You're absolutely right. Meaningful change in Palestine remains unlikely as long as the United States maintains its unwavering alignment with Israel.
