I am thrilled that Egyptian political prisoner Alaa Abd El Fattah has been released! I have been following his case for years. His mother is in Britain and was on a hunger strike until recently. What a joyful event. I wonder if he will go to Britain and I hope he is ok. He has been suffering for years.
What with geopolitical events being as they are, in constant flux and with rapid conflict escallation, it occurs to me that it may be in the interest of the Sisi government to release many political prisoners who are being held- they will be able to help their country as free men and women.
