Solidarity with you and all Palestinians who have been forced into unimaginable horror in their own land. I truly cannot imagine how difficult this is for you to leave your homeland and family. The reporting of you and all the brave Palestinian journalists who show the truth of the genocide by the zionist entity all while having a target on your back cannot be put into words. The western press who has manufactured consent for this genocide is shamed by the courageousness of Palestinian journalists who risk their whole existence to report on the genocide of their people.
Love and solidarity with you Abubaker and all the Palestinian people. Your reporting is a light shining in the darkness of western colonialism and imperialism.
As a British and US citizen I am both angered and ashamed of the support provided to Netanyahu by both nations. I apologise to you that we have been unable to stop the supply of weapons, despite the protests. Even in democracies, citizens have little voice in the decisions of their leaders to go to war. Practically every Jewish person I know decries the actions of Israel and yet the power of AIPAC is such that it drowns out their voices. Just know that the voices are many and that we are all wishing for peace for you and the Palestinian people.
Time for all those wonderful, principled Jews to sue the ADL, LFI, CFI, and the like, for defamation, slander, libel, and unauthorized appropriation! I would be great if that were to happen. Of course it would require great effort, energy and money. Perhaps a class action suit. Make the ADL, or other groups, have to admit publicily, with every statement, that they do not speak for all Jews.
I am sure there are those who would volunteer their services, andy surely we could get crowd-funding to assist with the legal fees.
Does this sound like something worth doing? How can we help make this happen?
Time for "all" those principled Jews to speak UP! Put their millions somewhere else: NOT to support that mess of a Jewish homeland: AKA: genocidal terrorist Zionist Rouge nightmare......
CODEPINK is misbehaving and making a stink. I'm not getting the impression that Jews are PUBLICLY doing much at all.
These are YOUR people doing this: for gods sake: Do more! Stop hiding.
I have followed Abed Abubaker’s stories as well as his interviews and I now understand why you were always smiling - your act of resistance! I have found this piece to be so heartbreaking and honest - what an internal conflict you must be suffering with every drop of water and every taste of food and abundance. The courage of Palestinians and Palestinian journalists in particular, to tell the story of this genocide puts us all to shame and offers us a lesson in what freedom can cost. I thank you so much Abed Abubaker. May everyone you love, be safe and come to no harm and may your words travel to the darkest of hearts and break them open.
I wish the world to you Abubaker. You're an incredibly courageous person and you write so well, thank you for all you've done. I'm glad that you will now have this opportunity to study and learn and to write more and more... Your pen is your sword and it's a mighty one. My thoughts are with you and your family.
Abubaker, You have been a faithful companion and a light since Oct 7, 2023. We are deeply, deeply grateful. I'm so glad you are getting proper food and medical care in Ireland and to hear your words. At the same time, feeling your heartbreak and agony. Sending you infinite love.
You are brave and wise beyond your years! Thank you for your honest, brave stories telling the truth to the world. Free Palestine. And may you be reunited with your family in your homeland.
Thank you Abubaker for your heartbreaking personal story of your departure from Gaza. If only the BiBiC would publish stories like yours the UK would have been forced to act more like Ireland, instead of more like the USA.
It's amazing that despite the horrors you've witnessed and recounted, you express no hatred for the Israeli leaders or soldiers, only fear.
My faith tells me your departure was meant to be, and God has something else planned for your life that may prove beneficial for you and your people. May you be rewarded for what you've already done, and have a long and productive life ahead.
Thank you for this beautiful piece. Thank you for your courageous reporting, and thank you for being who you are. I feel so much for you--I can only imagine the horrors you have been through. I hope the tide turns and you can return to your family in safety. With much respect, Bob
Such a heartfelt story. As a mother, feel for Abubaker Abid’s mother . I pray he is united with his mother and family in near future with a happy ending.
Call on the newly elected, American Pope Leo XIV to do what it takes to stop the destruction of Gaza, and the Palestinian people. Is there anything more important in today's world than this?
RIP, Pope Francis. I feel sure he will go to Gaza in spirit. Everyday, while he was alive he spoke by phone with the Holy Family church in Gaza. Let's keep the pressure on.
We, call on the newly elected, American Pope Leo XIV to do whatever it takes to save Gaza and stop the bombing, and end the starvation:
Thank you for this personal story. As an American, a heartbroken American, I am saddened and furious at the US role in the genocide. I am also non believing that other nations cannot stop this genocide, this starvation of people. Your story is critical. The reader needs to understand the Palestinian culture. The stories of family and food, living in a society controlled by Israel, about the lack of clean water and access to medical care. We only know and understand through what we read and see in the media. I wish you well and hope you will regain your strength in Ireland, experience joy and educate those you come in contact. I am sorry you have left your beloved family but hope the war will end and justice for Palestine will ensure your families health and your reunion. Please know what you write is very important for people around the world.
My heart goes out to you, Abubaker, wishing you health in the coming months, that you may physically recover now that you are in Ireland. But the pain of exile is also a physical pain that's difficult to describe; excruciating at times, so much so that it can leave one feeling breathless. So I hope you can remain strong in the face of it and continue writing, for we need your testimony. And may your family remain safe, may Gaza be liberated and its people rescued from Israeli aggression and starvation. Thank you for all you have done so far.
So glad to see you are safe. We need your voice!

I was holding my breath in fear as I read his passage through the checkpoints. We know how sadistic the IDF are.
GOD bless Ireland and Mr. Abubaker Abed.

A comprehensive and all encompassing up-to-date revalation of Gaza and life in Palestine today.
Historians will one day understand through articles like this the depth of love, loyalty and heroism of Palestine and its people.

Pope Francis's spirit would be targeted by the IDF. Hoping it's stronger than their weapons.
