Since Turkey has accused the SDF of being aligned with or a tool of Israel it would be helpful to try and describe what is known of any relationship between Israel and SDF. They seem unlikely partners. Also it's stated that talks to integrate SDF into the national army are stalled because SDF is afraid it will undermine an autonomous region for Kurds. But, even if that is the main reason no agreement has been reached, it doesn't explain why or how open warfare broke out. Which side has chosen to try to impose a solution by force at this point? And what external actors have encouraged that?

Thanks for the update. War up close raises our consciousness of the horror, and social media now distributes it more widely than ever before. Only soldiers knew about this and they did't talk about it because it made them so ugly.

This piece makes painfully clear how fragile Syria’s “post-war” moment really is. The displacement of over 140,000 people in a matter of days, the rushed evacuation deadlines, and the stories of children like Ibrahim and Fatima show how quickly political deadlock turns into mass civilian suffering. What’s especially alarming is how negotiations over autonomy and integration—issues that should be resolved at the table—are being settled with artillery in densely populated neighborhoods. The reporting captures not just the military stakes, but the human cost that so often gets reduced to numbers. Syria cannot survive another round of open warfare, and civilians should not be paying the price for unresolved power struggles and regional interference.

With the apartheid state allied with SDF, instability is no surprise. Evil people are trying their best to exploit the situation to keep the region divided and at war so they can keep their grip.

We need peace. The U.S. government and Arab allies must encourage all parties to negotiate a settlement. The new Syrian government is fragile, and it needs to be supported. Keep Israel out of Syria. I am glad the American sanctions on Syria have been lifted. We do not need to have another failed state in the Middle East. Praying for a cessation of hostilities.

The fragility of Syria's "government," is because it's not a government of the people, by the people, but a US installed puppet regime.

One led by a CIA groomed ISIS extremist, whose been "legitimised" by western states, out of self-interest, with no regard for the rights of the Syrian people.

The West's aim is to "balkanise" Syria and very much, have "a failed state."

Under the auspices of a US installed puppet regime, led by a CIA groomed and ex ISIS extremist, I don't think peace was on the agenda.

To balkanise it was!
