Thank you to both of you. Jeremy, I applaud the intent, substance and integrity of your work with Hamas over the past two years. I cannot think of a resistance organisation or de facto government that has received so much hyperbolic hostility. I cannot think of a resistance organisation or a de facto government that has been so fraudulently mischaracterised and misrepresented. I cannot think of an resistance organisation or a de facto government that has so many horrific lies and lurid fabrications told about them. I cannot think of a resistance organisation or a de facto government that has been weaponised into an instrument with which demonise and dehumanise an entire people. You have allowed Hamas to finally have the chance to present itself as it truly is. And it shown itself consistently to be not only the only adult in the negotiating room but the voice of reasoned honour over the entire period. You have given Hamas a much needed platform it would otherwise not have had to demonstrate that it is nothing more and nothing less than a stoic Palestinian liberation movement that operates in incredibly dangerous difficult circumstances with reason and principle. A far cry from the West's cartoonish and infantile portrayal of them as mindless terrorists and bloodthirsty "jihadists" who want to kill Jews because they are Jews. A premise that is so outlandish onlt a rabid racist or an irreedeemable Islamophobe would buy into it. That its been the default position of the western press and western governments tells you all you need to know.
