I taught ESL for five years, and I was privileged to serve as a witness to five new families that earned their citizenship. They are just as concerned about the influx of people with nowhere to reside, no language or ability to work. As with Gaza, it's the children that carry the burden. Let's hope for a brighter future.

“Let's hope for a brighter future.”

Hope springs eternal as does wishful thinking. I’m retired but worked (CNC machinery) for many years with mostly legal immigrants from all over the world in Chicago. The ones I knew best were the Vietnamese, Mexicans and Assyrians from Iraq. Excellent people with traditional values. All legal immigrants. All appalled by Woke ideology and open borders. All the Vietnamese and Assyrians were strong Trump supporters as were most of the Mexicans. They hated all the LGBTQ idiocy promoted by democrats. I was once talking to a Mexican woman at work who had kids in a Chicago public school who told me she tells her son “You are a boy!” Probably the first time in the history of the human race that mothers have to emphasize to their children what gender they are. She was totally stressed out by what the democrats were trying to do to her kids.
