It is hard to say what Hamas will do, and even harder to say what Israel/America will do. But I think it is a given that Israel/America will not abide by any terms of any agreement: both have already well established their deceit. But we now inhabit a world where there are no “international norms”. The American position is – we dictate what the norms shall be... and the rest of the world turns a blind eye. When “take it or leave it” is the basis for peace, blowback should be expected. The similarity to ancient Rome should not be overlooked.

Come on, dude, there were never any “international norms” in effect. It was always about superpowers dictating how the world will work.

Expecting anything else is naive and childish.

At the end there is only one rule in nature: the stronger dog fucks.

Always has been, always will be.

This article sheds light on the complexities surrounding the Gaza ultimatum and Hamas's response to Trump’s proposed plan. While there are some elements in the proposal that might seem promising, particularly in terms of ceasefire and humanitarian aid, it’s clear that there are serious concerns about its broader implications. Nazzal's comments about the plan being more of an Israeli directive than a genuine peace effort raise important questions about the legitimacy of any agreement that excludes Palestinian voices.

The issue of demilitarization, the release of captives, and the lack of guarantees for Palestinian rights or sovereignty are key sticking points. For any lasting peace to be possible, it's not enough for one side to make demands; there must be genuine dialogue and compromise, with an understanding that Palestinian self-determination cannot be negotiated away.

Moreover, the fact that the plan was crafted without meaningful Palestinian input only deepens the mistrust between the parties. The comments about the deceptive nature of the process, particularly regarding the role of Arab states, are concerning and highlight how delicate and fraught the political landscape is.

Ultimately, a sustainable resolution to the conflict will require more than just a ceasefire. It will need to address the root causes of the violence and ensure a fair and lasting solution for both peoples.

Such deception wow. They had the gall to change the document and do a stand up saying the western countries backed their plan and suggested Middle Eastern countries agreed with their plan! No wonder Netanyahu was smirking so much. It was already rotten with no proper Palestinian input but you wouldn't expect the Israeli/US Govt to understand decency.

How do we know if the western countries saw a different document or not too? Sheesh would these governments even care though. Their people do but our governments have been horrendous while we keep piling on the pressure.

So much deceptive theatre pushing Hamas hard into an impossible corner while Palestinians continue to be annihilated. It makes me feel sick all of it. At the end of the day stop mass murder and starvation and just damn well give Palestine and it's beloved people the freedom it always should have had!

I am still revolted it has taken an actual genocide to make the cause come into the consciousness of masses of more people.

Thank you for this important article and making clear the intense discussion within the Palestinian factions. They are right to see this as pertaining to the rights of all Palestinians, rather than a way to bring a cease to the present hostilities in Gaza. These issues are separate and should not be yoked together. The parties complicit in genocide should also not be allowed to set the terms for stopping their crimes, if, indeed, stopping them is actually on the table.

Stopping their crimes is not on the table, imho. No matter how Palestinian representatives reply, the fate of Gaza, West Bank, and the Palestinians has been set, thanks to the West, and specifically, the US. All this posturing, from Biden to DJT, and back to the Oslo Accords, were never meant to extend grace and self-determination to Palestinians. Zionism is quite simply a call for an apartheid state, inferring jews have no other place to live & practice their faith, which is blatantly and obviously false. An ethnonational state is the furthest thing from a democracy, imho. The long journey of the US toward a "more perfect union" demonstrates a macabre dance of strife and failure. Still. Still....there have been long moments where we manifest the intent toward progress. I see no evidence of such intent by Israel, most especially in the context of the modern world, where apartheid is nonsensical. Meanwhile, the murderous, bigoted intent of Bibi is being modeled by our very own 🤡👑. Hope Herzl, then Balfour, and their subsequent cronies, are rotting in hell. Or maybe they've been reincarnated repeatedly as a Palestinian, because they've surely created hell on earth.

By his prior behavior, Netanyahu has clearly shown that he cannot be trusted. The same is true for Trump. Is it any wonder that Hamas is suspicious of this document? Furthermore, the surrounding countries, especially Lebanon and Syria, should be monitoring this process very closely since it appears Netanyahu would also like to take complete control of both of them.

Call on Pope Leo XIV to do whatever it takes to save Gaza and stop the bombing, and end the starvation. Let him go to Gaza and stand with the suffering people who are being massacred by Israel and the Western posers. He can go to Gaza right now, and insist aid be allowed in.

Is there anything more important in today's world than this?

On 19 September 2025, in Athens, the Hind Rajab Foundation filed a war crimes complaint against Naor Shlomo Dadon, a Givati Brigade soldier who documented his role in arson, home demolitions, and the burning of a school sheltering civilians in Gaza. While Dadon now attends a Greek “healing retreat” for combat veterans, HRF urged Greece to apply universal jurisdiction and prove that Europe cannot be a sanctuary for perpetrators of genocide and war crimes.

I believe the choice is a stark one: death or re-occupation. The Israelis have no hesitation to kill 2 million Palestinians in Gaza, including the Israeli hostages. At least with the 2nd option some will live to fight another day. Yes, it is an imposed surrender. The only alternative is more death — now 66,000 and tomorrow 70,000 and 75,000 by the weekend. The Israelis hold all the cards, with or without American compliance. If Hamas rejects this miserable proposal, it is signing the death sentence to hundreds of thousands more Palestinians

If Hamas signs this agreement, there is zero, as your name implies you already know, chance that any of the commitments from Israel and the US will be upheld. If Hamas signs it, the mostly likely outcome is the Palestinians will continue to die. If they don't sign it, they may also die, but until they do, they will keep fighting. I think the right choice is clear, but consultations are ongoing, and the decision is not in my, or your, hands.

"most likely outcome" is pie in the sky. So that justifies Hamas fighting to the last Palestinian. Most likely the world may end.

I can very well see your point of view Zero as I see something similar myself. Could it be that with the people dragging the leaders and politicians belatedly behind them unwilling as they are to disrupt trade/money, that should any of the most necessary implementations actually be enacted such as a ceasefire and aid at massive levels etc, and various nationalities doing their humanitarian work without death a constant likelihood, could the two terrorist and rogue states of the US and Zionist Israel impose their will so easily? I am sure that many among us will answer "Yes they could"...my hope is that as a consensus grows and expands under pressure of international protest the laggard leaders must state the only too obvious truth...that they have permitted a genocide! And then address it with real force to erase this terrible injustice...not words...actions!

The UN should instigate a SWAT to arrest the war criminals guilty of Genocide. The US as a supplier of weapons used in the Genocide of the Palestinian People has no place as a mediator. The proposal put forward contrived by the two main protagonists of the Genocide, is an order to surrender, comply with further occupation and relinquish the means for self defence.

What leverage does Hamas have without the hostages which seem to be sacrificed by the Israelies.

Useless chest thumping by the Arabs and the West. To save more Palestinian lives what can be done by Hamas?
