Thank you Jeremy. This is a painful, important read. I am not even Palestinian, and my rage and tears are useless.

When is the US and Israel going to stop interfering and meddling in other peoples countries. It isn't even a question because it is a ridiculous statement. They gain too much in money as do so many private companies. I truly wish all our western Govts would boycott and stop all trade with those complicit and those profiteering off this Genocide.

Is there a list of companies anywhere? Surely, based off at least Francesca Albanese's recent report. Anyone know?

This article names many of the companies (not sure if it lists all of them comprehensively) from Francesca Albanese's report:

https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2025/7/1/un-report-lists-companies-complicit-in-israels-genocide-who-are-they

Another option is to read through the report itself:

Thank you for this detailed analysis. I hate to be negative, but I see no hope for a deal, especially in light of Israel Katz’s plan for “a humanitarian city”. As Gideon Levy wrote today in Haaretz, “The Jewish state is erecting a ghetto.” And their lead editorial is titled, “Israel Wants to Build the Most Moral Concentration Camp in the World”.

And, irony of ironies, the U.S. sanctioned Francesca P. Albanese, the truth teller, but hasn’t issued a word of condemnation to the killer of babies. Instead, both parties welcomed Netanyahu.

I live in a constant state of impotent rage.

Thanks for your detailed analysis on this vital issue of negotiations. I was shocked, however, to see the language of the purported amended proposals from Hamas, use the terms “hostages” for the prisoners of war they are holding, and “ prisoners” for the Palestinians the Israelis are holding. Can this be an honest translation of what Hamas has proposed?

And Jeremy's article keeps referring to this genocide as a "war." I can only assume it's to adhere to substack guidelines.

The negotiators might refer to it as a "war" to accede to the Zionist entity's demands. Free free Palestine 🇯🇴🇯🇴🇯🇴

Thank you to Drop Site for publishing this summary and the framework proposed by Hamas. I feel there needs to be an international armed force to enforce any agreement. No one can believe anything Trump or Netanyahu says. Trump does not negotiate fairly even with people in the US .

Appreciate this information. I believe that if any ceasefire is actually to hold, there need to be guarantors beyond the US, Qatar and Egypt. Can't they ask a nation that hasn't been arming Israel as a guarantor? Maybe China?

Yes or maybe a group of nations. So one nation does not have to face the US alone

The people and their descendants who created this "problem" will never ever solve it. It's deeply offensive to imagine that others who are instrumental in the hell that the Gazans and Palestinians are enduring will somehow be magicked away by "reasonable" white colonialist/imperialists in suits. It's absurd to go round with a begging bowl to the perpetrators, expecting them to "fix" it. Palestinians will determine their own destiny. They're not kneeling to slaver colonialists.

This is all so much kabuki from the U.S. and Israel. The only thing that could possibly stop Israel's genocidal war is a thoroughly equitable agreement wherein Israel and its U.S. enabler agree to a two-state solution. In that solution Palestine must have a viable state, not disconnected bantustans. Netanyahu is totally opposed to a two state solution. He wants preferably to ethnically cleanse the Palestinians out of what will become "Greater Israel." His position is inflexible and has the full support of President Trump. What Netanyahu calls a "choice" for Palestine is to be ethnically cleansed or to continue to live under occupation in a bombed out virtual prison, completely dependent on Israel for all the necessities of life. Israel now controls and will remain in control of Palestinian sustenance. This is hardly the basis of a negotiated peace. On the contrary it is death to any viable Palestine.

You guys are indispensable. There's just no other way to find out what Hamas proposes and what the heck is really going on in ceasefire negotiations. I wish Israel would get called out for demanding that Hamas surrender -- if the IDF could win, actually defeat Hamas, then of course they can demand Hamas surrender. But that's not the situation! Almost two years of bombing Gaza to rubble hasn't led to victory for the IDF. So where do they get off demanding that Hamas surrender? The answer, of course, is that their terms are, either you surrender or we'll starve the entire civilian population of Gaza to death, we'll maintain this blockade and we'll bomb your children mercilessly. That's terrorism

Thank you for this insightful analysis and reporting, Jeremy.

On another note, a very good friend of mine asked me whether it is possible, as a US citizen, to legally withhold the payment of federal taxes over objections to the US roles in the genocide in Palestine, in supporting Israel, in defunding health care, in targeting universities, in illegal and extrajudicial kidnappings, in failing to turn over the Epstein files, and lying about Kristi Noem's plastic surgery, etc. etc. etc. She said that if she cannot legally withhold the payment of federal taxes, she would be willing to relocate to another country and give up her US citizenship, but it seems that the only country that would take her is Israel, so that won't work for her.

If anyone has ideas that can help, please let me know.

And my sincere thanks to the folks at Zeteo, Drop Site and Normal Island News!
