And we complain about the Russians interfering in our elections! Given the shameful history of U.S. intervention in Central and South American politics, I'm not surprised. But could Congress eliminate the president's pardoning power? It doesn't seem to serve any good purpose.

Maybe each and every pardon needs a full explanation of why they are being pardoned. Make a full explanation for each pardon. That way the people can read and agree or disagree but no matter what the president has his reasoning documented, not just a signature. We could team up with MAGA and call it end to autopen pardons! 😊

The presidential pardon power should simply be eliminated.

I don’t mind pardon power, I just think it needs to be more transparent and harder to just pardon hundreds of people at the same time. If they are required to look at each one separately and write up a report on the reasoning behind it, it would slow down the process and give the public reason for each individual pardon.

This is a blockbuster report. I don't claim to know who needs to read it, but I'd start with **everyone**.

Since the end of WWII - intoxicated with a maniacal sense of omnipotence - Washington has actively destroyed the essence of democracy anywhere around the globe where it has dared to take root. Rich coming from the "shining city on a hill". Not surprising to learn that Israel is now a zealous partner..

If this is in fact an accurate development, and it's very hard not to see it as such, all I can say is welcome to more of the same. I don't know what we do about it, but knowing the facts and viewing them with sobriety is **always** the first step.

Here are two excellent references on the history of this exact undermining of global self determination by Washington -

One can go back even further to that great book by John Gerassi that opened my eyes. It's called "The Great Fear in Latin America," and was published back in the early 1960s. Absolutely nothing has changed, and nothing will unless the people of the US shed their blinkers and see what their government actually does, and is.

America was built by generationally wealthy white male human traffickers who were never held accountable. It's no surprise that today's president is a generationally wealthy white male (bff with human trafficker) who has never been held accountable.

We... America just don't stop these covert operations...SMH. On taxpayers dime. I lost my wife 4 yrs ago come this December 26th and now the country I love has been hijacked. Peace, thank you for your reporting.

This is amazing.

What these leaks expose isn’t just another Latin American scandal — it’s the operating system of U.S. hemispheric power. Washington didn’t just pardon a convicted drug trafficker; it repurposed him. Hernández becomes useful again the moment he can be weaponized against left governments that refuse to kneel. The audio shows the same old pattern: lawfare, media warfare, and proxy politics dressed up as “security.” And the fact that legacy U.S. outlets won’t touch this story tells you everything about whose interests they protect.

Hasan Pikers Yale debate was on the US Empire and if we should end it. It was amazing. I was shocked at the Yale students who are from high wealth families agreeing with Hasan that the US needs to end the empire. It was quite remarkable and gave me a little hope that this next generation understands the evil we spread across the world.

Next up...Cuba. Three certainties of life...death, taxes, American interference in Latin America.
