Democrats fiddle while the world burns. How can we sleep while our beds are burning?

Ryan - the Knight-Ridder Washington bureau (sadly long gone) also did honest reporting on the buildup to the Iraq war.

I think that Anthropic made the correct, moral decision. I wish the heads of other leading AI firms had followed suit, but they clearly value profits over everything else. That fact that they feel that way is a threat to democratic institutions everywhere.

DEFINITELY DO NOT TRUST SAM ALTMAN

Article II, Section 2 is clear, the president is NOT commander in chief until congress declares war:

"The President shall be Commander in Chief of the Army and Navy of the United States, and of the Militia of the several States, when called into the actual Service of the United States"

Trump and everyone allowing Trump to act as the unconstitutional unitary executive should hang.

Whether it be Meeks or Jeffries or Schumer in the Senate, the upper level power centers seem to not be getting the memo. Political decisions cannot continue to be made as some sort of game. Stands on the essential issues confronting the US and its influence in the world need to be moral stands. The AIPAC influence has been exposed and is front and center for anyone paying attention.

War Criminal BIBI meets with the GOP - only the GOP - behind closed doors - In OUR CAPITOL - you all you need to know about a pack in which part they’re counting on to be their rubber stamp

Although, even if not entertaining Netanyahu in person, Biden still fed the genocide with weapons and political cover. He had a chance to stop it but had Blinken tell us the “Sky isn’t Blue” when we all saw that war crimes were being committed daily in Gaza. The Dems need to pick a side. Saying one thing and doing another is less honest than the Rs.

The Democratic Party is way more fragmented than the GOP fascists.

People have different agendas, including Fetterman Who seems to represent Tel Aviv not Pennsylvania

yeah, there’s a pretty big difference between Biden and Trump on this. We haven’t gone to war under Biden to defend Israel plan to expand through throughout the Middle East.

If one is not AGAINST the war, that is destroying so much of the Middle East and beyond, you are FOR it, even if it is delay to make the "other Party" look bad. NO ONE is having any party there or anywhere. Delay in taking a stand to stop funding and permission to continue to US Military, makes you look bad, too. Spoiler Alert! You are not helping Dems by any delay to cut off funding or reach a consensus. Vote to Stop the War, no matter if Trump lies about that, your vote is on the record and that COUNTS. Delay counts us all OUT and too much of the world, too.

Our system is so fucking corrupt.

I read somewhere that what action our govt takes is not determined by Congress or by who is president but by the military industrial complex and I am beginning to believe that. These people have a plan for more and more war and they are determined to carry it out and they have the power to carry it out.

Not sure Amodei is redeemable at this point. He has been working with the DOD for far too long a time to suddenly finally discover a few forgotten morals in a drawer somewhere.

This reads like something I might read on Zeteo, which often sounds like it is working overtime doing PR for the Democratic Party. Not something I expect from Dropsite. This is the second time in the past week or so, I'm getting these Neo-liberal vibes. If it keeps up, Dropsite and Zeteo will become indistinguishable, and I for one will not pay for two carrying water for the Dems.

Excellent article but the name of the AI pack attacking NY Assemblyman Bores is ""Leading the Future" not "Leading our future.

The logic of the first part of this post is pretty shaky. Why would anyone believe anything that a Republican rep tells them, especially re: an issue as sensitive and politically risky as their vote on a war powers resolution? You haven’t convinced me that the Dems are actually “stalling” in this case.
