The takeaway is simple: voters can smell weakness. If a candidate won’t challenge AIPAC’s influence, they’re signaling they won’t fight corporate power, party leadership, or anyone else when it actually matters.

This is a poll the Democratic Party must take seriously. And if they wish to be taken seriously as a party, they need to take voter's concerns seriously. The loss of trust in the Democratic Party establishment is, at least in part, due to their abandonment of average peoples demands in favor of high-dollar special interests.

The Democratic Party must defeat MAGA - the undead corpse of the GOP - but **only** by realigning with the interests of regular people. Any other path to "victory" is simply rewinding the tape to the conditions that brought us to this moment in the first place.

The Democratic Party is going to have to truly **earn** a win. I'm guessing here, but AIPAC affiliation is going to be a decisive factor for many potential voters. I am one of these voters.

For what it is worth -- as a social scientist-political criminologist who was also one of the persons who took the poll from Drop Site and Zeteo-- I want to just say that it was an excellent survey poll by the way you framed and integrated the questions between the three candidates. I was also pleased to learn that the one who I will be casting a vote for at the nominating convention on Sunday is the only candidate who received his picture in the story--Abdul. So thank you Andrew Perez.

AIPAC and the self-absorbed Zionists are putting all Jews (and those of us who love them) at risk of being scapegoated for all MAGA's hateful, cruel, lawless, incompetence serving billionaire interests.

AIPAC represents Zionist Israel today. A country committing ongoing genocide of the Palestinians and selective murder of any other Arab or Muslim people it doesn't like. Its about time to get rid of

the foreign financial influence of Israel in American politics.

Netanyahu is a criminal. The ICC has declared he is criminally responsible for war crimes and crimes against humanity committed from October 8, 2023. How can our sitting congressionals accept AIPAC funding from supporters of Israeli war mongering officials and Zionists backing the atrocities being committed.

According to Ballotpedia, Michigan is an open primary state, so the outcomes will depend heavily on participation of the no party affiliated or independent voters. As a registered D myself, because I live in a closed primary state, I agree that the D party needs to pay more attention to where the voters are including those who have lost faith with both parties.

I hope we can turn affiliation with AIPAC and other Bibi groups into a bright lime green albatross that glows in the dark and smells like what it is.

It doesn’t matter. The oligarchs are shifting their support. Trump and MAGA are dead. The Demo party (Genocratic) leadership will do what they’re told. Pretend to care while supporting the Empire no matter what. We are an oligarchic state. This is a fact. Yes, it’s fun to pretend we’re a democracy! Like children with plastic soldiers. Cute, busy, and pointless.

i send letters/emails to my useless reps and ask them direct questions (like the question of supporting and funding israeli serial killers), and a note that says 'no answer from you = no donation from me.... I've saved a lot of money!

if everyone did this, they would soon see the light....

and by the by...their form letters where they list off a lot of things they've done and supported for their local constituents (that is ACTUALLY THEIR JOB and not a bonus for us) and letters they've written....then reply saying 'no response to my direct question = no donations and no vote'

keep the pressure on those fat greedy self serving politicians.

I’ve had a similar approach and received word salads in return.

it really is astounding how disdainful they are towards their voters….

MissAnneThrope's avatar

It's really not astounding, to me, because they know who's lining their pockets, and it ain't their salary or their constituents. It's disgraceful.

Voters in MI didn't choose the Israeli Prime Minister and his policies at the polls

Since when do we, American's, owe allegiance to Israel or any other state?

Judy's avatar

Yep, they don’t have a moral compass! If you are okay with ignoring a genocide, you can’t be trusted!

agree with the findings... i refuse to vote for aipac skivvies, which means 95% of dem politicians. i am sooooo fcuking sick n tired of politicians doing what they want regardless of what the population wants....this is a topic that should be put to all dem party paying membership by way of a referendum...not just the establishment in the dnc.....

and states should have 'ranked choice' voting....the way alaska does, and that enabled a democrat to win the 3 way race in a republican state.

but typical dems...don't want to change anything.... the dems of 2026 and 2028 are/will be exactly the same as the dems of 2024, 2020, 2016 etc.

they have zero new strategies of how to run the government in any way more meaningful and cost effective for the people of the country.....

Drop Site News is excellent! Zeteo should be ignored.

Haley Stevens may be the AIPAC candidate but, to make matters worse, she is also the Big Pharma candidate. she has promised to take down RFKjr and get everyone vaccinated for everything and end medical freedom of choice. i guess she believes that the USA should be #1 in autism rates. i don't live in Michigan, but if i did, i would NEVER vote for her

Support for Israel is becoming (IMO) a policy position that is similar to a combination of support for Gay Marriage and opposition to the Iraq War.

Long-standing views (against gay marriage and for Israel) were/are somewhat tolerated by the public. These were, "just the way it is." No more.

The genocide in Gaza, like the illegal war of aggression in Iraq, are/wer strong polarizing issues.

It is a pickle for those who have been in Congress a long time, because to be in Congress a long time, you have to have had at least some support for Israel. There is no reasonable justification for what Israel did in Gaza, and zero justification for what they are doing right now in Lebanon.

This will lead (how quickly is the question) to a break between the US and Israel.

I just read about what happened at the DNC meeting last week(today is April21).

All in on Israel it seems….Arguing about Hasan reminds me of when Kamala was running…should she go on Rogan’s podcast or not. I will not be voting for the dem in my state…too corporate and too Zionist.
