The gist of the piece is that the right wing media controls what people hear. And they're only getting stronger.
From the piece:
"The right-wing media—Fox News (and the entire News Corp.), Newsmax, One America News Network, the Sinclair network of radio and TV stations and newspapers, iHeart Media (formerly Clear Channel), the Bott Radio Network (Christian radio), Elon Musk’s X, the huge podcasts like Joe Rogan’s, and much more—sets the news agenda in this country. And they fed their audiences a diet of slanted and distorted information that made it possible for Trump to win".
For me this is the best take — along with what Ralph said on Democracy Now! this week. To me, this is the problem.
Maybe you guys could talk about this?
You know I love you guys. But this is why I was going to throw in the towel. Because how on earth are you going to get through what seems to be an impenetrable shield of lies and propaganda? Until then, aren't you just preaching to the choir? It's a rhetorical question. The answer is yes.
The right’s stranglehold on media is only going to get stronger. If I was advising you this would keep me up at night.
I say this as someone who just renewed for 1 year. It's great that you do what you do. But given what you're up against, does it matter? How is your message going to get through the firewall? I can't see how.
Howdy everyone!
Ryan I wonder if you read this piece in the New Republic by Michael Tomasky:

It feels hopeless!
