As a teenager in the 1950s of the United States, I first heard the term "Fifth Column" circulating in the country as well as in Europe. It was attributed to the members of the Communist Party in both continents.
Today, it can be attributed to what Sen. Bernie Sanders calls "the global oligarchs". At least four of them appeared at Trump's inauguration. Global oligarchs possess extreme wealth and the desire to share power in a global government. The concept of a world government is present in Dante's "De Monarchia" (On the Monarchy) written in latin in 1313. His world government is one of peace and not of war.
Each national oligarch must seek to control the political, military and social elites of his country before participating in the world government. Its members are multinational. The more extreme wealth they amass, the greater the chance for a world government.
My opinion, hopefully to be somewhat verified.
I look forward to an article on today's Fifth Column.
