It is because the U.S. regime's coups don't replace "unpopular undemocratic corrupt regimes" but instead installs them in order to replace democratic Governments that refuse to take orders from it. So, I think that you grant too much credibility to U.S.-and-'allied' (or U.S. empire) 'news'-media and to the paid-off academics they quote as 'experts'.
