Perhaps there should be some mention that the current government in Pakistan is there because of, at least to some extent, the US interference there, and the imprisonment of Imran Khan.
In addition, one might speculate that the slight leverage Pakistan currently has in the talks between the US and Iran might derive from just this continuation of the WOT in Afghanistan, started by the US, and only reluctantly abandoned, as untenable, yet unfinished business.
It seems the Pakistani government -- and military -- mimic Israel and blame supposed terrorist actions of the TTP to justify its own terrorism -- as documented here by Emran Feroz. Israel repeats the same canard when bombing Gaza or Lebanon, blaming Hamas and Hezbollah for Israel's murderous activities.
The Pakistani government has trouble telling the truth ever since former Prime Minister Imran Khan's imprisonment by the Pakistani military. (PM Imran Khan did not follow the U.S. dictates to support the so-called War on Terror, so we engineered his arrest.)
Just like Trump's so-called Board of Peace, and the hawks in the Israeli government, Pakistan's government pretends to seek peace (in the Iran war) while waging its own war against Afghanistan.
All three nations-- our own, Israel, and Pakistan -- form the new "axis of evil": they lie, commit war crimes, and keep getting away with it. We need more media outfits like Drop SIte to counter their lies.
Having seen the Israelis get away with similar attacks and denial, and given the role they have been "assigned" in the peace talks, the Pakistanis believe they have nothing to fear and they are probably correct.
"Pakistani regime that enjoys close ties with Washington." The USA has been arming Pakistan in the 20th & 21st centuries. Also the CIA provides intelligence. Innocent blood does not deter our arms industrialists. The Pakistani drone attacks would appeal to Trump; the rape, murder of women and children is his bread and butter, and he prefers whatever is rancid to butter his bread.
One had to scratch their head wondering how and when the Pakistani military dictatorship became the good guys? As former prime minister Imran Khan languishes in solitary confinement, courtesy of the Biden state department, Pakistan managed to rise on the world stage as negotiators. Afghanistan endured a decade of Soviet aggression only to be followed by two decades of US occupation and now terror from their neighbor Pakistan. Some countries just seem to be fair proxy game.
Field Marshall Asim Munir, by all appearances, seems to embody what the US rollout of "Modernization Theory" in the 1950's was designed to produce: brutal military rule in countries the US hoped to do business with.
A relic that apparently remains relevant to our foreign policy..
I have heard that there is forced labor involved in this abusive use of arbitrary violence, labor by Afghani people for Pakistani businesses, and would appreciate information on that aspect.

Sick and tired of all this, again the disgusting army slaughtering innocent civilians. And also is the Ummah death. Once again proven

Sad and painful, but it is also a fact that TTP attacks across the border in Pakistan have killed and maimed thousands.
One seems to have lost normal human emotions like sympathy and empathy in the wake of an ongoing genocide in Gaza and Lebanon.
