Calling this a "pro-Palestine" movement puts Drop Site News in lockstep with the mainstream media propaganda. In the USA, this is a pro-peace, anti-ethnic cleansing, anti-genocide movement. One thing it is NOT is "anti-Semitic."
The reason this is being prosecuted in the ICC and IJC is not because the victims are Palestinian, Muslim, or Middle Eastern. It is because the people being starved, murdered, and violated are human beings. The prosecutions and the disapproval of the entire world would occur if the victims were Jewish, Irish, Catholics, Progressives, Russians, Chinese, Republicans...whatever. The use of "pro-Palestinian" is a diversion that trivializes a genocide committed by perversely evil people as a political dispute, an ethnic prejudice, or in Vietnam "war" deceit-jargon, a "Police Action." It is more than that, and mainstream media deserves the middle finger gesture for sanitizing what it is with such jargon.
I think Drop Site is using the term Pro-Palestinian because many of these groups characterize themselves that way. And those of us who are opposed to the genocide are called pro-Palestinian even though we are pro-humanity.
Yes..."everybody does it." We can start to change this dialogue right now by callin' it out no matter what outlet does it. "Pro-Palestinian" serves Netanyahu well because he can easily conflate it into "pro-Hamas." I suspect the Israeli government is giving marching orders to easily intimidated corporate news outlets to use it.
I think most of us are right with you on this. If the Democratic Party is so weak that they cannot beat a 34-time convicted felon by just standing up to telling Netanyahu "NO!" on everything from commandeering our military weapons to running our universities and using violence against our own young adults protesting genocidal atrocity, the Democratic "Republican-lite" Party just handed us American citizens to Netanyahu and Trump to govern on a silver platter.
I cannot imagine who would remain a member of it to let it happen again in four years...if this country even sees another election because of the corruption and cowardice of our two cartel parties.
