" ... this effort will represent an opportunity for public–private partnership when a willing administration occupies the White House.” Where is this going?

In RW Christian hateful end times propaganda, the whole point of armageddon destroying all groups that won't accept their god, is to establish a 1000 Christian rule over earth. The moral idea that different cultures/countries have their own gods and beliefs which should be respected is not even on the radar of these people. Because they believe they are saved, chosen ... supreme! Added to that engrained arrogant belief is Islamophobia - pushed through one-sided shallow news reporting and racist stereotypes in popular culture like TV programs. So you end up with Project 2025. Unfortunately the Democrats betrayal of Gaza and international humanitarian law has set a very low bar for human rights in America.

I don't know where it's going. Setting aside the propaganda (why propaganda? Does misery love company?), Christian rule means no one else. As I understand it, the Christians think the End Times will come when the Jews are back in Palestine. That's why they're so sympathetic. Not because they give a shit about Jews, but because it gets them to their Rapture, or whatever it is they think is coming. And they don't understand that religions are called beliefs and faiths because they're all made up, with zero evidence, and you just have to have faith and believe in them if you want to.

I don't respect anyone's religious beliefs. I think they're pathetic. I just tolerate them as long as they keep them to themselves, and don't bother other people with them.

I have the same thought you do about Jews: they create the problem about which they complain by telling everyone else they're superior and chosen, by "god." That's no way to make friends. Of course, the Christians are largely no better, and neither are the extremist Muslims.

I grew up with a Catholic mother and atheist father. Went to Catholic school till 14 yrs old when I left the church. I still thank and miss my father for his "permission by example" to think outside the square. Worship of a "sky" god (usually male) for a caring philosophy is one thing, but when religious beliefs are intolerant of others and used to threaten or take lives, they are bad political messaging and should be confronted. History is full of challenges to religious beliefs which oppress human rights, eg womens rights etc. So I remain a happy atheist.

Just found this plea from a New Zealand writer for religions to "get off the fence" and take an anti genocide stand.
