I don't know how many times I've said it, but we'd all be worse off if it weren't for Drop Site News. Thank you.

Trump continues to enhabit an alternate reality where he has complete control over this entire conflict. Yet, with each passing day, his ramblings which are best described as that of a madman, that continue dragging the US into an incoherent and costly quagmire. Costly in both in lives and billions of dollars.

And it is not just him. I can't get Ron Johnson's (R-WI) comment that American's would rather have higher gas prices than Iran having a nuclear weapon. What Americans really want is no more idiots like Ron Johnsons!!!

Lisa's avatar

He was always a madman, but now he's a "Mad King," with mad power and mad dementia.

And despite Trump having literally vowed to, "Burn them all," America is devoid of a "King-Slayer."

carolyn kostopoulos's avatar

that's disappointing about Ron Johnson; he was so correct when it came to the Covid debacle. frankly, i'd rather Iranians have nuclear weapons than immature bullying Americans, who are- as a group- rash, impulsive, impatient and irresponsible. look at how badly we've handled our finances! we took for ourselves the power of having the reserve currency and, instead of using it with wisdom, we wielded it like a cudgel to get the world to bend to our irrational will and the world is pretty darn pissed off at us. what did we expect?

there is an Australian podcaster who goes by the name Willy OMA. he was a crew commander in the Afghan war and came home with a brain tumor. he is now a political commentator. when he was a guest on my favorite podcast, The Duran, he gave an example of the different negotiating styles of the USA and China. he said "China invites you to a party with lots of beer. the USA invites you to a party but threatens to steal all your beer. which invitation are you more likely to accept?"

Imagine another country dictating to us that we could not enrich uranium for our own power and medical needs. Bombing our infrastructure and civilian population. We have been waging economic war on Iran since 1979 - based on lies. Why hasn't Iran produced a nuclear weapon in the last 40 years ? Who has Iran attacked, invaded, started a war with since WWII ? -0-

Iran signed the NPT. Israel - NO ! Iran was subject to the most intrusive IAEA inspections ever. Israel ? NO !!! I've always said Iran should accept the same level of inspections as the Rogue Nuclear State of Israel. No more and not until.

The PROBLEM is the Greater Israel project. Syria, who once had a real army has been neutered. Same for Iraq who we attacked based on Netanyahu's lies. I remember this movie.

Lebanon has been destroyed, politically leaving only Hezbollah to defend the country from repeated Israeli invasions. Jordan ? Egypt ? Both compromised. Iran is the last neighbor country powerful enough to RESIST Zionist land theft and expansion.

That is why WE are spending Billions attacking Iran. Again. Netanyahu's lies. Trump got played.

Greater Israel is the Zionist version of LEBENSRAUM.

Zionists believe Jesus is a fraud, NOT the son of God. How can you be a Christian Zionist ? Who are these delusional people like Huckabee ?

I don’t get it why Iran still puts up with Israhell-US bullshits. The idea of greater Israel is a hell nightmare. I’ll bet Iran will do the world a great favour to clear up the Zionists from the Middle East territories.

Dav Cer's avatar

We can only hope, NIM. I think US invincibility has taken a hit, though. Other countries may begin standing up to the BIG BULLY. Certainly, more countries will dump the dollar and won't be so interested in our "help".

Let’s hope. And thanks to the independent journalists; they are beyond brave.

I couldn't read this entire summary of what's been going on with the insane US Pres., his handlers The Zionists, and amazingly rational Iran. It really doesn't matter. Israel has been carrying out massacres since and before 1948. I get sick of hearing that Hezbollah, the "terrorist" enemy we have to help Israel destroy when Hezbollah wasn't formed until after Israel's invasion of Beirut in 1982.

In 1948 the Israel's war on Palestinians caused 730,000 Palestinians to flee to other countries. Hezbollah was formed from the 100,000 who fled to Lebanon.

Israel has never ceased raging war against every country in that region. No one or institution can stop them. Now Israel has brought the USA, Again!, into an assault on the largest target of Israel: Iran.

The world order is changing. The USA is losing power and credibility. Does Israel care about the USA? They are not capable of caring anymore than Trump cares about anyone but himself. Neither the Zionists nor Trump is any benefit to the human race. Us little people are being led by devils.

Dav Cer's avatar

You're right, Judith. Hezbollah is a people's militia formed because the Lebanese army collapsed, leaving Lebanon undefended from chronic Israeli attacks and invasions. If not for Hezbollah, Israel would have occupied Beirut decades ago. Hezbollah is not a Terrorist group. They also developed a political wing.

I figured out within a week after the Oct7th attack...on Israel and the Oct7 attack on Gaza AND the hostages in there!! That Hamas was not the bad guy. Israel and the USA are the terrorists.

All of this reinforces what has been true from the outset: Trump is detached from reality and incapable of coherent thought.

“The Zionist regime and the United States have continuously operated in a cycle of war, ceasefire, and peace,” Ghalibaf said. “This cycle must be broken, and a durable peace must be established with guarantees that war will not happen again.”

If any nation can free us by severing the relationshp between the U.S. and Israel, it's Iran.

The reality we face is that Israel wants nothing short of a neutralized Iran, which is quite impossible. But because Israel still controls the White House and most of Congress (though not the American public), we may be in for a prolonged and more damaging war.

Hi Drop Site,

I am running for the US House of Representatives on an unapologetically progressive platform. The Philadelphia Democratic City Committee has sued my campaign to knock me off the ballot. We won at Commonwealth Court. They appealed to the case to the PA Supreme Court; on April 15, 2026, I won at the PA Supreme Court, and on May 19, 2026, I, Shaun Griffith, will be on the ballot for PA-03. I am facing opponents with seven-figure war chests that may be backed by pro-war dark money (based on 2024 Intercept reporting). I think that there is a story to be told about the attacks on me and my campaign and the dark money pouring into Philadelphia to drown out progressive voices. Please contact me 267-591-2957 contact@griffithforcongress.org I think that readers should know what goes on behind the scenes in Democratic Party politics in the deepest blue congressional district in the United States. Unmasking the Uniparty is a must, if there is any chance for humaity to survive.

If you're running on the blue ticket in the duopoly, you're not progressive. Progressive is an oxymoron in the Dems.

You want progressive, run for a third party option, e g the Greens ✅.

What stands out here isn’t just the escalating rhetoric—it’s the complete mismatch between public threats and diplomatic reality. You can’t seriously claim to be negotiating in good faith while openly threatening to destroy civilian infrastructure. That’s not leverage; it’s sabotage of your own negotiating position.

If anything, this reinforces Iran’s core argument: that U.S. commitments are unstable and reversible, while Iranian concessions would be concrete and irreversible. That imbalance has killed deals before, and it’s hard to see how it doesn’t kill this one too.

The bigger issue is strategic incoherence. If the goal is a deal, the messaging undermines it. If the goal is regime change or prolonged conflict, then the negotiations look more like a tactical pause than a real effort at peace. Either way, it’s not a recipe for stability—it’s a recipe for miscalculation.

And historically, miscalculation in this region doesn’t stay contained.

Israel is calling the shots Trump is dancing to Netanyahu's tune.

“Negotiation, by nature, is for reaching understanding..."

And reaching understanding is necessary before working to achieve resolution. However, there needs to be at least two parties really present, and when one is suffering dementia or insanity, there is NO ONE THERE TO NEGOTIATE WITH.

Apparently, our two cartel parties and the do-nothing Congress they have saddled this nation with, replete with felons like Henry Cuellar and proliferate numbers of overt AIPAC bribe-takers, refuse to recognize that they have ensured this nation has no capacity to negotiate with ANYONE.

It is essential to be a member of the adult world community of nations to have this capacity, and the fact the entities forming our "government" have not invoked the 25th Amendment to remove such incapacity from our nation indicates they are too stupid to understand the urgency or that their privilege and wealth have incapacitated their ability to know why they should give a damn.

Call on Pope Leo XIV to do whatever it takes to save Gaza and stop the bombing, and end the starvation. Let him go to Gaza and stand with the suffering people who are being massacred by Israel and the Western posers. He can go to Gaza right now, and insist aid be allowed in. Then on to the West Bank to end the occupation and apartheid.

Is there anything more important in today's world than this?

He’s a total fraud who has no clue what he is doing who has surrounded himself with sycophants. The Republican Congress is not only destroying the US with their bootlicking cowardice, they are jeopardizing world order and safety

Claridge's avatar

It is important to remember that Trump is having obvious difficulty in keeping facts straight and reality in his viewfinder. It is not a slip of the tongue that he intimated Pope Leo 'made a statement that he wants Iran to have a nuclear weapon' or that 'they (Iran) have been closing the strait for years now.' The man is in a bubble talking to himself and constructing a reality for himself to his liking. He is surrounded by a sycophantic press and staff who rarely, if ever, correct him or ground him in reality. He is unable to sleep at night and most days appears lost in intermittent delirium. So, he may be a "master of lying" but he is no master of "psychological warfare."

BTW -- I can probably do myself a favor, save time and money, and just read Drop Site News for its thorough and penetratingly useful depiction of world affairs! Thanks for keeping our feet on the ground.

The USA needs a regime change. The negotiations have been going around in circles. The Iranis

are too smart for the likes of Witkoff and Kushner. Trump is not changing the guard because he wants to be the hero and he thinks he can win just by willing it. He is so delusional.

In the meantime, peoples lives are on the line, our economy is on the line - it's not funny anymore.

More important than ever that the search for justice continues! The work that the Hind Rajab Foundation is doing to track down and bring Israeli criminals to justice is one that is vital in the effort to hold Israel accountable.  Let us hope they will also turn their sights on the criminal leaders of the countries of the west who are co-perpetrators of these crimes.

Find out what they’re doing here:

The least we can do is donate to help them:
