If Trump were, indeed, committed to a permanent, peaceful resolution, he would demand it. And he would get it. All he has to do is stop providing the weaponry and the diplomatic support. This "deal" is a good one for Israel, a very bad one for the Palestinians of Gaza. There's no way Israel will allow UN-affiliated humanitarian organizations unhindered access to Gaza during the ceasefire; they'll come up with one bogus reason after another to prevent it and we'll do nothing about it. So the Palestinian people of Gaza will continue to suffer malnutrition, disease, denial of medical care, exposure and trauma while the IDF gets up to 60 days of R & R. Or less than 60 days. Whatever Israel decides, we'll go along. And this administration has demonstrated, in the negotiations for the release of Eden Alexander, that their word means nothing. We remain nothing but handmaidens to the Israel lobby and this proposal doesn't bode well at all.

Exactly!
