History reveals the USA’s involvement in instigating numerous conflicts, engaging in actual wars, and orchestrating assassinations of heads of state leading to significant regime changes. These actions have resulted in the deaths of millions of innocent civilians, positioning the USA as a major threat to global peace.
The profound impact of these actions makes the USofA an untrustworthy partner in any peace negotiations!
How can the Unites States broker ANY kind of peace settlement / ceasefire, whatever, that is couched inside a threat, to wit: “I hope, for the good of the Middle East, that Hamas takes this Deal, because it will not get better—IT WILL ONLY GET WORSE.” ?
Trump is saying this and he has "only gotten worse". He is still true to form with threats and actions, doable or not. If he is involved he is probably telling the truth, it will only get worse and probably for ALL involved, friend or foe.
Correct! Trump only has one form of diplomacy – threats. Once issued, he has boxed himself into a corner, even deeper into the corner than he placed himself by taking millions ($$) from his Zionist supporters. And no one in his inner circle can see the blowback that will come. Then again, perhaps they do but don’t give a shit because they figure it won’t hurt them. Monsters!
Something about chickens coming home to roost... Though I shouldn't laugh I had to: as the Big Beautiful Bomb was beeing passed, the Resident Select was saying he could reverse it all by Presidential Edict.... We know Don can't handle being unpopular so maybe he will, or won't, or will,again....
Why would anyone believe that the serial killer psychopaths that represent Israel and
the United States would hold its end of any bargain? There seems to be no good or hopeful
solutions for the Palestinian people as long as the treacherous, murderous bastards Trump and his sidekick, Netanyahu, are running the show. Sickening and pathetic. Reaping and sowing, it's all coming back on their heads someday. May that day come quickly.
Deal or no deal. We call on the newly elected, US, Pope Leo XIV to do whatever it takes to save Gaza and stop the bombing, and end the starvation. Let him go to Gaza and stand with the suffering people who are being massacred by Israel and the Western posers. He can join the March to Gaza this month.
Is there anything more important in today's world than this?
If you believe this is a Peace deal or even a realistic ceasefire plan, I got a Bridge in Brooklyn I think you would be interested in buying... One can understand the pressure to potentially stop the active killing and slow starvation now occuring in Gaza and the increased attacks on the West Bank, through acceptance of the current negotiations by USA and Israel, to achieve respite "by any means necessary." However, if those in Israel and the USA doing the negotiating have shown NO ability to honor past negotiations, the need for caution and sticking to your "red lines" becomes apparent. If compromise on issues like withdrawal of Israeli troops from this territroy has any kind of chance of being a real option, and not an illusion or a smoke screen, let Israel show good faith by stopping the bombing and opening the area to humanitarian aide, restoring water supply and allowing entry of medical providers and release of humanitarian workers and medical personnel from Israeli prisons, NOW, before any deal is signed. Will it harm Israel to do so, or to remove its troops, or task them to assist with peace keeping and logistics, outside Palestine and the West Bank, for securing areas from further Settler attacks, as humane assistance is restored to hospitals and aide distribution systems? Hostages or no, there are thousands in Israeli prisons, many women and children, who could be released now. Show the People of Palestine inside and outside that Territory, and their alies and neighbors, that you mean it, Israel. This may be your best choice NOW for both Peace and your survival as a Nation, in future.
You make some important points here, but after observing the death-cult state of Israel over the years, and especially over the past two years, one can only conclude that these people only know one thing--annihilation and total destruction. Living peacefully and productively with other nations is not in Israel's vocabulary. It is altogether a sociopathic,
ethno-racist, suicidal entity. There can be no peaceful negotiations with Israel.
It may be as difficult for those working for peace and justice in Israel as it is for the USA population to work for nonalignment and boycots of the weapons of genocide in Gaza. There are people ( we have seen them in the millions, here) who stand for peace and justice and there are those in Israel and around the world who stand for the same. It is the bombs that fell in Israel after their attacks against Iran that woke people from their illusion of safety and security inside Israel. This can mobilize Israel to the reality of their vulnerability and the futility of their current war against all other nations and people in their region. A USA boycott of divestment from paying Federal witholding tax on our paychecks and other Federal taxes, boycott of corporations that support the war and call outs to Corporations we work for, to support a just peace. That and nationwide Boycott Days, to buy nothing and support only local business, is our power to end the war, in Gaza and our own government's war aginst the people and our democracy here.
Hi, Karen. I know this is a late reply, but again, you've made some good points here, and I would agree that there is a tiny minority of Israeli citizens who truly are against the genocide and ethnic cleansing that is taking place in Gaza, but it is a very small minority. And I do agree that the destruction wrought by Iranian bombing has certainly caused many Israelis to realize just how vulnerable they truly are. I wonder, however, despite this new realization that their country could potentially be destroyed in a relatively short time, whether the majority of the population of Israel will remain steadfast behind the murderous madness perpetrated by Netanyahu and his network of Zionist minions. But you're right,
if the US immediately halted all arms sales and logistical support to Israel, this horrible bloodshed we are witnessing would end overnight. On a side note, I am particularly ashamed of the majority of evangelical so-called Christians in the US who have been cheerleading Israel's carnage on the beleaguered Palestinians, all based on a very skewed and evil eschatology based only on lies.
Your thougts and observations are appreciated. I wonder how anyone can think this is OK but then, a lot of what folks think is a mystery to me. I do believe that many in Israel have left or have tried to leave that country. I know that about 20 years ago, when I met an Israeli lawyer who was working for Palestinian liberation told me that many Israeli youth either left the country or spent most of their time getting stoned, so as not to be made parts of an occupying army, in Palestine. I also know that education systems now teach both fear ( terror is the better word) for Palestinians from the earliest.schooling, with a militant focus toward arabs and neighbors. This indoctrination is being promoted in the USA, right now, so we need to be vigilant for tolerance, equality, unity and truth, if there is nothing else we can "do" now. Let's NOT do that to our children, here.
Why Palestine needs to bend the knee for nothing to appease the USA and Israel is beyond me. What a crazy world we live in. It's their land not Israel’s
It’s a ploy to get the IDF terrorists captives released nothing more than that. genocide will resume. US West and their client Arab dictators are to blame. Poor Palestinians have no other option to accept the offer. History is witness to this abomination. Will not forget or forgive.
Palestine/Hamas were happy with a negotiated deal where it had a statehood status of 22% of what was their homeland before the Brits gave the European5 Jewish dyspora landing right to Palestinian lands. Now the dyspora (many, not all) want to return to their homelands cause they can't take what Iran is doing to them what they are doing to Gaza and to others in the Israel surround. Zionist are very bad jews. So many good non zionist jews but the bad unfortunately rule Israel. And Israeli's and zionist elsewhere seem ok with what they are doing committing holocaust crimes to Palestinians. How fuc*ed up is that
Jose tells us that the USA is "an untrustworthy partner in any peace negotiations". He's right. The problem is that neither are the other "partners". None of the actors are acting in good faith.
How is it possible to make a peace deal that demands "wiping out of Hamas" per Netanyahu ?
Hamas continues to offer to relinquish governance of Gaza to an independent technical commitee. Israel has not accepted that proposal. So Hamas continues to hold the Israeli captives as a bargaining chip instead of releasing them as an act of good faith.
"releasing them as an act of good faith."? I'm not clear on what you think would happen after that 'good faith" release. Do you think that would make the Israelis stop their campaign in Gaza, and the one in the West Bank? Or, more likely let them continue with the genocide with no further concerns about their hostages, and those protesting hostage families?
Really, the only way to get a legitimate ceasefire is for nations other than the US to get involved -- nations that would actually enforce the agreement.
Whatever is agreed to, not agreed to, adhered to or not, happens in the absence of any respect for international or humanitarian law. Both Israel and the United States ignore and violate international law with impunity. So it's just a matter of who has greater firepower. Since the U.S. has overwhelmingly greater firepower, in the form of planes and bombs, than Hamas, Trump and Netanyahu both say: agree to our terms or the starvation continues until every Palestinian in Gaza is dead. Is there really anything other than that going on?

I believe at this time Trump doesn't give a dam about Israel or Hamas. His ego demands he gets to go to OSLO.

Stop me if you've heard this one...
Two terrorist-states walk into Palestine.
The first one says, "I'll kill you all, if you don't fuck off, so I can steal all of your land."
The second one says, "Yeah!"
What a fucking joke.
Hamas is been played by trump and Netanyahu.

The US just sent $500 million worth of weapons to Israel. If the US is serious about ending this massacre, why would they send more weapons to Israel
