I just want to say thank you, Jeremy, for consistently providing extremely high-quality journalism that makes me feel not only more informed but less crazy.
Thank you for your detailed and diligent reporting, Jeremy. It's quite awe-inspiring, especially since I can only imagine the amount of hell you get for speaking to Hamas. You and Drop Site are doing an amazing job. Thank you for keeping us informed and helping us bear witness to this genocide.
Crazy to imagine (it is a reality) these Gulf dictators enjoying lavish meals with Trump while their brethren just a few hundred miles away are starving to death while being bombed from above. What kind of cruel world do we live in?
What further baffles and infuriates me is that they are too selfish, stupid and hateful to see that the situation they have created and continue to foment is most likely to create more Islamist terrorists and terrorism, not less.
Excellent and comprehensive report, Jeremy. Thank you!
Clearly the wild card in the unfolding game of Middle East relations is Trump. It's possible that he's bent on making deals with all major players in the region -- Saudi Arabia, UAE, Syria, Turkey, Houthis, and even Iran -- and will then force Israel's hand on Gaza.
The other wild cards are the Saudi monarchies who have successfully pulled Trump close with the hundreds of billions in deals and charmed his pants off with their luxurious settings. It is unlikely that they will sell out the 2 million Palestinians in any way -- either abandon them or take them in. And Trump certainly knows this.
The reasons for hope are the cracks developing between Trump and Netanyahu, the deals Trump is making with all others in the region, and the resistance and resilience of the Palestinians.
We're witnessing radical shifts in the relationships in the region and both Trump and the Arab states are unpredictable. I'm hopeful and prayerful.
It must be terrible to live in Gaza in so many ways, and especially to realize that the lives of you and your family depend on the whims of two utterly crazy leaders, Trump and Netanyahu.
So let’s admit Hamas are not the mass murders in the room. They appear disciplined, staying in sync with their goals for liberarion & peace while residing on their land belonging to their previous generations.
As for Oct 7, as time goes by we see more evidence many were killed in the chaos that day, by IOF. Plus the obvious question, what caused the alleged failure in the famous Iron Dome by US’ Iron Clad partners in Genocide?
Personally I am usually anti-any&every-war, and I see no benefit in guns in home but cannot imagine taking guns away from Hamas.
Generations of Israelis have immersed themselves & their children in hatred & disrespect toward Palestinians and Christians. Aside from maga mantra Israel/America First, racism from Russian & other settlers runs deep. Beating people, stealing their home/trees/land, teens spitting on old people, reminds us of MS 1950s, South Africa, wtc but they disn’t have war planes and drones dropping (US made) bombs 24/7. Plus after the IOF retreats, they too have PTSD, having broken every socially accepted humane law. Many of these soldiers will probably be abusive when returning home. That is why so many US Vets do repeat their tours again & again. They cannot “be at peace” and why 23 US Vets a day suicide.
So who will keep the peace? Imagine hiring individuals to build a peace keeping force. Based on on- line clips of the hostage exchange, it is clear that Isr jails used brutalty and starvation, while those in Hamas custody appear to have had their needs met. Also their testimony was Hamas wanted hostages for bargaing chips ONLY, & had no intention of abusing them at all.
Trump lives in the world of wealth and privilege so completely that he thinks it is the only world there is and that the 99% are troublemakers that create problems for investors and profit.
In Saudi Arabia he was a billionaire speaking to billionaires with nothing to address the problems of the hundreds of millions of people who despise their billionaire rulers and have little option but force to register their views. Not once has he mentioned the Palestinians are a people who have lost most of their land to Zionism, that being a development project with no regard for the natives. Trump is simply moving on with the development project for which the indigenous must be moved aside or killed.
A human being with a conscience would accept the Qatari jet, sell it and use the proceeds to feed and house the helpless Palestinians.
Excellent reporting. Don’t have words to express my feelings. Beyond reprehensible. Somehow I was expecting, Trump would have slightly more empathy than Netanyahu and keep his words promised to Hamas. What a bad role model for youth of USA.
Trump is actually backstabbing his so called friends ( Saudia and Qatar , UAE ) to hoard money from them. Have some decency Mr. President.
Trump has no friends and never has had. He does not know what empathy, let alone "peace" is. He backstabs everyone who gets in the way of his rapacious, greedy, utterly narcissistic "deals." Always has.
As innocent Gaza residents are murdered every day, Trump's only thought is about what a great billionaire's resort Gaza would make. He of course wants Netanyahu to continue his genocide of the Palestinians there in order to "clean them out" so he can realize this narcissistic fantasy.
I’ve always had a high level of respect for your reporting, which is why I was surprised to see a well-established historical fact misrepresented. The correct name is the Persian Gulf—this is not a matter of opinion but a fact supported by historical and international documentation. Referring to it otherwise would be like calling the Gulf of Mexico the "Gulf of America"—a clear contradiction of geography and history.
I hope this can be corrected for accuracy and consistency.
Hamas' threat to destroy Israel, as stated in the Hamas charter, is not just empty words. Israel is fighting to prevent Hamas' making good on its vow to inflict 1,000 October 7's on Israelis. Israel is correct in working to remove Hamas from power, demilitarize Gaza, and deradicalize the Gazans who, like all Palestinians, have been fed anti-Jewish rhetoric for generations and have grown up seeing people honored and rewarded for killing Jews.
The truth isn't Hasbara. The Hamas Charter calls for the destruction of Israel and the Palestinian Authority's president says the PA's sole financial obligation is keeping the Martyrs' Fund solvent. That's the fund that pays lifelong stipends to Palestinians (and/or their families) when those Palestinians answer the PA's call for violent resistance to the "Occupation." The size of the stipend depends on how many Israelis are killed (more carnage brings more reward). Very tempting for people trapped in areas with severely underdeveloped economies. See https://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/21613/what-most-palestinians-really-want
Here is "the anti-Jewish rhetoric" they have "been fed." Other terms for this are "investigative journalism" and "historical documentation." https://cdn.bookey.app/files/pdf/book/en/goliath-by-max-blumenthal.pdf Reading Chapter 3 is enough to understand the situation. After the book hit the NYT Best Sellers list, the NYT refused to permit any reviews of the book to be published in their paper. Plenty of reviews are available on Amazon. The book is well-annotated and documented.
A Zionism that declares Jews should be as safe as those privileged in any nation is understandably worth supporting. A Zionism that advocates that Zionists are God's chosen people and as such have the right to exterminate all non-Jewish people nearby as a means to "keep Jews safe" is as lunatic as adopting the "religion" of the cargo plane worship tribe.
Political organizations that advocate for sadistic control over or extinction of any people should be outlawed under international law and global sanctions placed against any nation that the amoral sadistic organization manages to gain control over.
This is the insanity of loveless organized religion. It was devised to divide, not unify. Since the stated primary tenet of the three Abrahamic religions is supposed to be "universal human love", we see what humans do when we believe OUR version of this belief is superior to the others. The irony and hypocrisy are nauseating. Muslim terrorism is wrong. Netanyahu`s genocidal insanity is wrong. Trump's greed (for his plan to turn Gaza into another TRUMP paid resort) is wrong. They each thump their own Bible though, don't they?
Arabs comprise 20% of Israel's population. They have full civil rights. Jews and Arabs are treated in the same hospitals that are staffed by Jewish and Arab medical personnel. Palestinians drove Christian Arabs out of Bethlehem. Christian Arabs are flourishing in Israel. Arabs can bring suit against Jews in Israeli courts. Arabs also serve as judges on Israeli courts. Israel is not called for the deaths of all Arabs, but Hamas is calling for the deaths of all Jews (and working to achieve that genocide). Israel is trying its best to minimize casualties among non-combatants but (as certified by West Point's Major John Spencer) Israel's exemplary effforts are doomed to fail sometimes because Hamas has made hospitals, schools, businesses, residences into legitimate military targets by its placement of munitions, its firing missilles from school yards, its holding military planning meetings in hospital basements, ...
Hamas calling for the extinction of all Jews is genocide and it is evil. Netanyahu's retaliation against Palestinian civilians is wrong. Trump just plain is wrong in the head. Every side needs to stop pressing for justification while perpetrating all the wrongs they continue to commit. Live by it: die by it. No lasting peace is going to come out of current circumstances.
And, Toby Block - do you think Israel's attempt at wholesale genocide of Palestinians is going to ACCOMPLISH the irradication of extremist Muslim terrorism or exacerbate it?
"Christian" Trump, "Holy War" Hamas and "Observant Jewish leader" Netanyahu apparently practice their perverted versions of their own religions. Netanyahu wants Palestinian GENOCIDE and Trump wants a "Gaza Riviera" income property to call his own. Hamas equally wants Jewish Genocide. THIS is right - wing FASCISM, folks. In the meantime, Trump also demands Ukraine's precious metals and minerals as extortion to beg his boss, Putin to end his aggression toward the sovereign nation.
I just want to say thank you, Jeremy, for consistently providing extremely high-quality journalism that makes me feel not only more informed but less crazy.

Trump sees Gaza as a potential "Hell of a nice area for a billionaire's resort" (I'm paraphrasing here). HIS NARCISSISM AND GREED HAS NO END.
Trump are you so delusional that you are unable to comprehend the meaning of murder.
So let’s admit Hamas are not the mass murders in the room. They appear disciplined, staying in sync with their goals for liberarion & peace while residing on their land belonging to their previous generations.

A class of information, thanks for that Jeremy team.

Your hasbara dont work anymore. We all know that you guys are the baddies. Everything you said suits to the israelis

Thank you for your clarity and the quality of your interviews. I have noticed the truth of the old "Hope
Springs Eternal". Any suggestion ,of an alternative to
what I am seeing and what you describe in your truthful
investigations, and my mind jumps to a moment of belief.
