'May be planning large scale massacres'

That rather like saying Trump is planning to lie. The reality is that the Jewish State In Palestine TERRORIST regime has been carrying out large scale massacres of Palestinians EVERY DECADE for HALF A CENTURY with the overwhelming support of White Christian states.

The "Palestinians" lost several generations ago - they need to get over themselves!

They are not important, they are not special, they are Arab hillbillys that no Arab country will take in. And until this skirmish, which they brought on themselves, more "Palestinians" have died at the hands of other Arabs than the Israelis have commuted to bounce on Allah's knee.

They need to assimilate or perish!

I'd have to check if the supporters of the White State In South Africa said something similar about the Bantus. Apartheid supporters always sound so alike, it's hard to remember which Apartheid regime they were supporting when they declared the victims of it should give up.

The ANC came to power through a rigged election where 3mm more ballots were cast than eligible voters. And the election was certified as good by the worst President in US history. Jimmah Carter.

(Did you know that Mandela made a promotional video for Landmines made in SA? he was not a nice man)

As is the case with virtually all Aboriginals world wide, white apologists gave them artificial maturity and bestowed nation-like qualities on their tribes (calling it a society would be a lie) including written languages.

A mark of a Nation is a written language and property ownership. Bantus had neither.

Under the ANC, their GDP stumbles.

And let's not remember the President of SA who thinks you can cure AIDS by having sex with virgins.

Well, at least that proves you aren't using Chat to write your comments (unless it's literally the only ‘friend’ you have and have taken it down the folie au deux trail) because your absolute racist beliefs are clear.

PS, because I've been to South Africa, I will point out your obsession with finding fault with Mandela misses the mark, because he WASN'T the leader of the movement that toppled the White State In South Africa, it was a guy named Robert Sobukwe. Of course, his tactics were so dangerous that the US etc didn't want to see them spread, and his death made it easy to turn Mandela (and his not dangerous tactics) into the focus.

But you're seeing them being repeated on a small scale in the UK by Palestine Action and the Flottilas (make ‘them’ arrest you for refusing to obey a law against doing the right thing, because every time they do, people understand what sort of people would make that a crime, and realize that any of the right things they do could be the next thing to be criminalized)

PPS, having stood in front of the Collessium in Rome, and crossed the bridge to get to the Sydney Opera House I actually GET how mind blowing those demonstrations against the Australian and Italian government's were even before factoring in the lack of centralized resources to get that many people there. I'm old enough to have seen more than one social movement succeed despite political/media opposition, and this shows all the hallmarks of those, right down to the extremes of rhetoric and consequences being used to stop it from succeeding.

May I suggest anyone who would support Hamas, which has Genocide in their charter, over Israel is a racist.

Mandela was a troll taking money from white business people to crush their shop unions. His skanky wife Minni, showed he had poor personal taste as well. Yes, Mandela was, like Rosa Parks - a stuffed puppet to hide the real people behind.

You are incorrect in that there are no centralised resources organising these protests. One need only do a trace-route to find that BlackLivesMutter web services a(and others) re hosted and run on Soros rails. MoveOn.Org, spent $47mm bringing the NWO/WEF accolade Justin Trudeau to power in Canada.

The Flotilas? How stupid can anyone be, to get behind the manufactured twerp Greta, which is not sure what she is fighting for, from week to week.

You can suggest that, just like you can suggest the world is flat. But the evidence is against you.

Oh, and self organizing protests have always co-opted resources from multiple places, because that's how self organizing works. BLM itself co-opted stuff from Occupy, etc.

The US is totally unjustified in committing acts of war on other nations because of drug trafficking that would not even exist without our demand for them.

But, as a % of the population, drugs supplied by the cartels have killed far more Americans than the Palestinians ever killed Israelis. Drugs have done far more damage to our society than the Palestinians ever did to Israel's'. In a way, trump is more justified in his actions than the Israelis have been since 1948.

How long before trump starts bombing Mexico ? When we kill innocent Mexican civilians I bet our government will accuse the cartels of using "Human Shields".

Is there any real difference between what the Israeli's ancestors, the Israelites, did to other Canaanite tribes because their "god" commanded them too - e.g., genocide and enslavement of Canaanite survivors and violent theft of Canaanite lands; and what the Israelis are doing now in Gaza? Many jews and christians believe that if their "god" commands them to do something, no matter how revolting and horrific, its OK because it's "god's" command. William Lane Craig and John Lennox, both pretty well known christian theists and apologists, believe that the Israelite slaughter of the Canaanites was completely justified - again, because their "god" told them to do it. Craig, for example, thinks that the slaughter of babies and children was a great "blessing" for them, because they went straight to "god" - who caused the murder of their parents and other relatives. And Craig also believes that no one was actually suffered by the genocide of the Canaanites except for the unfortunate Israelite soldiers who carried out the mass slaughter of babies, children, women, men, rape of Canaanite girls, theft of land, etc. This seems very much like the the Nazilike "thinking" (aka propaganda) of the present day Israelis, chriatian nationalists and Trump supporters: anything goes if we say it does, in the name some "god" other, or in the name of D. Trump, which is the same thing. FYI -

Kathleen Grover - Well thought out response. Bu there is no historical basis for a "Palestinian state within the boundaries of what has been a jewish territory for several thousand years.

In fact the term "Palestine" was an invention of the Romans as a slur on Philistines. Their true territory was part of Jordan and Syria. But Jews are a more convenient target.

Until the "Palestinians" stop chanting "from the river to the seas" and dump Hamas, who's charter is the obliteration of Israel, they are stuck in time.

They lost, suck it up, butter cup.

I guess they could just keep saying "too many more people were killed in Gaza today." Because, really, the numbers are mind-numbing. We all know many more than the "official" deaths have occurred: think of the thousands buried in the rubble. But, I get your point about accuracy. It just seems like the very least salient point on which to focus.

Yes, and over 1200 Israelis were killed on Oct 7th 2023.

What kind of idiot would attack such an overwhelming force as Israel and not expect brutal retribution. Is Hamas that stupid????...

oh wait, Hamas does not care because the Hamas masters are all safe and snug in Iran and Qatar. It's only their sheeple who are dying. You know, the ones who supported Hamas by 93% margin before the attacks

Karma.

You keep bringing up Oct. 7 like the history of Israel/Palestine began then. It began 77 years ago when Israel was created by killing 15,000 Palestinians, displacing 750,000, and destroying 500 Palestinian villages. The ensuing decades brought more of the same.

Israel provoked the Oct. 7 attacks and was complicit in them. It's using them as an excuse to steal land and commit ethnic cleansing and genocide.

I do NOT SUPPORT THE HARMING OF CIVILIANS regardless of who the civilians are or who is doing the harm. All combatants, whether part of a militia or state military, must abide by international law, the rules of war. Again, not to pick up pins, accuracy in the reporting of all deaths is crucial. Specifically, there must be a distinction made between casualties as to which are civilian casualties and which are military, police, armed combatants. Armed combatants are considered allowable targets in a conflict, civilians aren’t. I’ve certainly read many comments regarding the Gaza casualties, produced by the Gaza Health Ministry, where it is claimed that combatants are included among the civilian casualties, inflating the numbers. I have no independent evidence to support or challenge that claim. The obvious women and children among the casualties can safely be said to be civilians. I believe the numbers of casualties should be as accurate as possible on both sides. aoav.org.uk has examined all of Israel’s reported deaths on that day, including the sex and age of the person as well as their location. That was one piece of evidence that helped to debunk the 40 beheaded babies claim as there weren’t 40 deaths of babies in the entire attack. Of the 1,270 deaths on that day they found 860 were civilians, 59 were police, 382 were military, and 13 were emergency services. Additionally, according to the statements of IDF soldiers in Israeli newspapers and news programs, they were instructed to “shoot anything that moves”, even after explaining that some were civilians seeking to remain in Israel and that cars contained both Palestinian fighters and civilians were driving towards Gaza. The order was affirmed. Some soldiers assumed the Hannibal directive was in force and others claimed it was expressly stated to be in force. The soldiers stated they were told to call in Hellfire missile strikes on civilian homes where it was known that Hamas fighters and civilians were present and on military bases where IDF soldiers and Hamas were present. In the 25 years that I’ve followed this conflict this was the first time (to my knowledge) the Hannibal directive had been used against Israeli civilians. Recently some IDF soldiers have testified before the Knesset that the Hannibal directive was used on 10/7. There have also been statements from persons present that day that they witnessed the IDF shoot and kill their friends. None of the above in any way excuses the actions of Hamas and other actors. I point this out because, again, accuracy on both sides is imperative. I doubt that we will ever know exactly how many civilians killed that day were killed by Hamas et al or killed by the IDF. If ONE CIVILIAN is killed by armed combatants it is wrong.

What Hamas, Islamic Jihad, and others did on 10/7 was a war crime. Armed resistance by an occupied people is enshrined in the Geneva Conventions but it does not give them license to commit war crimes or crimes against humanity. NO ONE, under any circumstance, has a right to commit war crimes, crimes against humanity, or genocide. There are some exceptions within the Conventions that allow for targeting a civilian target such as a hospital if a fairly complex examination is undertaken to balance strategic military gains with civilian loss of life. There is however no justification for genocide. It is the highest crime to which there is no defense. When genocide is established the parties are guilty if they have participated in the genocide or if they have failed to exert all measures to prevent or stop the genocide. I’m truly sorry for the loss of life in Israel and feel those who participated in the war crimes should be brought to justice. I’m also truly sorry for the loss of life in Gaza and feel those who’ve participated in the war crimes, crimes against humanity, and genocide should be brought to justice. I believe in human rights for all people equally and accurate factual information is crucial.

As to why Hamas and others attacked one of the largest militaries who is supported by the largest military, I have no personal knowledge. My personal opinion is that the innate drive for freedom from an oppressive occupation and blockade, the overwhelming desire for freedom, for self determination is so strong that it’s almost impossible to extinguish it. Possibly the concern that Arab states would join the Abraham accords without maintaining their demand for Palestinian rights, for a Palestinian sovereign state, was a motivation. If you see your last chance for freedom disappearing before your eyes it could change the balance of harm to gain. When people have been enclosed in what is often described as an open air prison, denied the right to come and go at will, unable to pursue educational opportunities, their economy decimated at least in part by the enclosure, unemployment skyrocketing, no future for their children except as prisoners within Gaza, knowing that if they lose their last opportunity for freedom everything is lost. Without the support of outside states they know that they will be sentenced to the non- life they were living with routine bombings (mowing the lawn- a phrase I find particularly offensive) and a stranglehold on their economy and their right to travel freely. Again, personal opinion, I don’t think their original aim was to take civilian hostages. In the past they’ve taken only military personnel (as far as I know). One Israeli survivor stated that the Hamas combatants had asked them to call the police, the military, indicating that they wanted to engage with Israeli combatants. Some footage of that day shows groups of fighters driving around, appearing to seek police or military to engage with. It was a horrific day which, regardless of motive or intent, resulted in too many deaths. The following two years have led to overwhelming loss of life, the destruction of residential buildings, all civilian infrastructures, museum, churches, mosques,, hospitals, schools, universities, archeological sites, cultural sites and relics, and a denial of humanitarian aid that has resulted in more deaths from starvation. Israel’s response is far beyond proportional on a scale not seen before. This must end and the people of Gaza, the West Bank, and East Jerusalem must be allowed to exercise their inalienable right to self determination on all of the OPT as stated in the ICJ opinion of last year. Israel will only have security when the Palestinians are free. The current actions in Gaza and all of the OPT appear to be an attempt by Israel to ethically cleanse the Palestinian and take all of their land.
