Howdy folks,

I'm not trying to bogart space, or come across as it know-it-all. But I've been a tech entrepreneur for 36 years. It's the only professional gig I've had. I know the business.

I just posted this on Michael Moore's substack, I wanted to share it with y'all. Sam's piece should be a clarion call. I hope it is.

As I wrote I believe the two most important actions we the people can take for a brighter future are: defund Elon (leave corporate social media) and civic engagement.

Here's what I wrote. Many thanks and gratitude to Drop Site News. Long may you run, NFA!

I agree with Mike. I'm 60/40 that playing to the center is the right strategy. 60 being I don't believe it's going to work, Trump wins.

Whatever happens. What does it say about the Democratic Party that the election is this close? To me it says the Democrats have failed, over years. Either way, I hope people will rally and either reform the party from the bottom up or start a new party. Some names that comes to mind of politicians I happen to admire are Lina Khan (I get she's not a politician), Katie Porter, Bernie Sanders, and Jasmine Crockett. They seem to get it.

It's way past time to hold the Democrats feet to the fire. But it's also way past time that Americans realize that corporate social media is a social disease.

I'm a tech entrepreneur since '88. When FB hit we told people what was coming. I wrote that one day our elections would be decided because of social media. I/We were right. Now look what's happened.

I hope people will leave corporate social media and join the Fediverse. Because X and FB and their cohorts are a big reason why we're in the mess we are. My gosh folks, look what Elon is up to. It is so discouraging that people continue to login to X or FB.

I know who these people are. This piece (Sam's) is right on. What people don't understand is that for Elon, Thiel, and their kind money isn't enough. Neither is sex, drugs, fame. No. They're bored by all that. What Elon and Co. wants is complete control over the population. This, is their ultimate buzz.

There's an old saying in coding, that the ultimate programming language has just 1 line: "do what I'm thinking". It has just one parameter - human(s).

When Elon and his cohorts take over our government, they can then achieve their dream of do what I'm thinking.

A big key to their plans is that everyone is one place - think shooting fish in a barrel. This is why Elon bought X. It's why he wants to turn X into WeChat. But he can't do it if people leave X - and FB for that matter (although Zuck isn't quite as evil as Elon).

The best thing anyone can for our society - along with civic engagement - is leave corporate social media - X - and join the Fediverse. No one will miss you, I promise. You can send your friends and relatives picture via text message.

Please. Defund Elon. That starts with deactivating X. Then tell others why they should do the same. Don't buy a Tesla. If you have a Tesla, sell it and buy a Rivian.

BTW. I deactived X, I'm selling our Tesla and buying a Rivian.

Thanks Mike,
