FDR totally ran a coup, fundamentally changed the nature of our government.

I don't think you know what the word "coup" means. Did FDR make some drastic changes in a time of great suffering and turmoil? Yes. He also got elected four times which means the people approved what he was doing. Yarvin doesn't believe in elections. I understand the idea that a highly intelligent person should be fully in charge without having to go through the rigmarole of an election. I thought I should be king of the world.. when I was 10!

What makes you think a coup can’t have popular support?

Firstly, thanks for the link to the Curtis Yarvin interview. I've heard about him but I've never seen him interviewed. I was expecting some profound thinking but I realize he's just fluffer for spoiled rich tech people. Telling those people they are magnificent and should be running the world could be a lucrative pastime but trying to say that Anders Breivik and Nelson Mandela are comparable? That's just bizarre.

Secondly, yes, a coup can have popular support but I'm not clear on what coup you are in favor of.
