For certain, there's a lot of history to absorb, I shudder to think where we would be without Norman Finkelstein's debunking of Joan Peters' "From Time Immemorial" (should be retitled "Lies Dreamed Up") and the work of the courageous "New Historians" (e.g., Pappe', Shlaim) and journalists you reference. Without their work the lies upon which Israel is based would have substituted for the truth, in the Western world anyway. The rest of the world knows better, but have we been allowed to hear their voices?
Upping the ante with Iran is taking us further down the path to ruin, for the sake of Israel. They have inveigled their way too far into our government, our institutions, our society - and distorted each of them - that no degree of metaphorical surgical skill can separate these conjoined twins. With the perversions of our values, with the never-ending militarism, this has become true: "Israel 'R' US." I think we are witnessing the end of the American Experiment.
If it should ever come about, a just peace for Palestine would require not only that the "state" of Israel be dismantled (for the sake not only of the Palestinians and other peoples in the area, but for humankind as a whole) and the land returned to its rightful indigenous people, but that the Zionists be compelled to develop (using their own money, not US aid) a site encompassing the entirety of their now-former capital of Tel Aviv to establish, akin to The Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe in Berlin, The Memorial to the Murdered, Displaced, and Dehumanized People of Palestine.
Finally, "terrorist", as understood by past proto-fascists and present de facto ones, means any individual, group, or organization opposed to the American Empire and its acolytes.
