In the words of West Point's Major John Spencer: Hamas is sacrificing the Gazans -- storing munitions in private homes, hospitals, and areas where civilians are sheltering after being warned by the IDF of planned attacks. Even if Israel is cutting back on current shipments of food, Hamas has huge stores of aid previously stolen from the people. But Hamas won't give the food to the people, just as Hamas lets only its fighters shelter in the tunnel it built. Interesting that Hamas could spend $1,000,000,000 to build its network of terror tunnels while claiming that an Israeli blockade prevented the development of Gaza's economy.

The casualty reports from Hamas' "health ministry" are inaccurate. Statisticians have noted that the claims that most of the dead have been women and children could be accurate only if there are esssentially no adult males in Gaza. Even the UN has questioned the Health Ministry's figures. Major Spencer (head of Urban Warfare Studies at West Point's Modern Warfare Institute) says the IDF has achieved the lowest ratio of civilian casualties to combatant casualties (1.5:1) ever recorded for fighting in a densely populated areas such as Gaza. He notes that ratios as high as 9 civilians killed for each combatant killed are not unusual.

This is the biggest nonsense I've ever heard since the war I've been living through in Gaza began... Do you want me to send you lists of the names of all the dead with their ages and ID numbers so you can verify yourself?

Hamas's breaking a ceasefire started the war. Its vow to repeat atrocities over and over again is what convinced Israel that it's time to stop settling for continual war interrupted by intervals of relative quiet.

No it was NOT Hamas that broke the ceasefire. Are you reading MSM?

Major John Spencer is head of Urban Warfare Studies at West Point. See:

Major Spencer also has a post on X (formerly Twitter) stating that Hamas has gone beyond using Gazans as human shields -- and is actually using them as human sacrifices.
