Biden endorsed Kamala. I doubt there will be an open convention. Less chaos will be better. I'm sure Jeffries, Schumer, Pelosi, Obama, and all the other party leaders will move quickly to endorse her and whip the dems to consolidate around Kamala Harris.

Had there been a democratic process to begin with, we likely would not be in this situation. The DNC made sure that Biden was the nominee and blocked all other contenders, with no consideration for standing on a debate stage offering the public a better understanding of them and weighing who best to support. The republicans "sort of had a democratic process" by having candidates debate, but Trump chose not to stand on the stage with the other contenders. Had he been required to debated by the RNC, he may have faltered and not allowed to rise to "sainthood" by his ardent followers.

Yeah, but we don't live in a democracy. At best it's a pseudo democracy. I hate the democratic party with a passion, but I'm pretty fucking scared of the fascists. I don't think there's any real way for normal people to influence our government at this point through the electoral process.

Hard to say that the Democrats are any less fascist. They are, after all, trying to ban "malinformation" - aka "the truth, but makes us look bad".

After all, it's unamerican is acknowledge American war crimes. Or Hunter's laptop, or where COVID was developed, or that Biden is senile.

I agree. However, my perception (which may be misguided) is that the democratic party is marginally less fascist. I simply want our society to eek our way out of this mess and a Trump return doesn't seem to me to be our way out.

Less proud of it, I would say.

I would ask this:

If you believe that the GOP would never represent your interests (which is not unreasonable, for sure) why would you ever support the people who are dedicated to making sure the Democrats never represent your interests either?

This is the time to drive a stake through the heart of the corrupt leadership of the Democrats.

No, actually. The time to do that is the moment elections are over to prepare, fund and support viable primary challengers. That is what is logical.

Yes, nothing brings about change more than supporting the people who oppose it.

I missed when you were knocking doors and gathering petition signatures for a different party. Silly me.

There will never be a viable third party. I e has to fight for control of one of the two existing parties.

Or, you know, either party could try passing popular economic policies.

It beats whining. If women had been such whiners we'd still be private property.

Pretty much a call for revolution. Two money-corrupted parties will NEVER, IN ANY WAY, represent "the people".

Agree pretty much, but I think it is telling about how Republicans gauged Trump's popularity by even running against him at all. Turns out they guessed wrong, so that's why they all reversed themselves and fell in line. Self-debasement is much better than the noose!

& that's been the problem at least since 2016 when we all saw the emails showing internal corruption. At least vet Harris to show us she can have a chance against Trump.

I don't think anyone expects anything other than a corrupt cabal of Dem elites deciding who we get to vote for.

Why bother? While Kamala hasn't had enough to time to do as much damage to the middle class as Biden has over his 50+ years of pillaging, the is little doubt she'd like to give it a shot.

The Democrats lost my vote when they rigged the elections. The only way I'll get a party that doesn't suck is for one of them to die. It may as well be the Democrats.

I have more hope in theocrat fascist Vance will improve things than Kamala. Which means I have no hope at all.

I do have hope and would NEVER vote for fascism regardless of my also having disdain for the Democratic Party and DNC.

Voting for Democrats is as much voting for fascism as voting for the GOP.

The only people that went to prison over war crimes under Obama were the people who blew the whistle on them.

The Democrats worked with Big Tech to sensor their political rivals.

Malinformation is the truth, but makes them look bad.

There are no good guys here. Both parties need to be destroyed ASAP.

"Voting for Democrats is as much voting for fascism as voting for the GOP."

About as true as apples being oranges, up being down, and black being white. You don't have to like either party; but don't pretend they're two sides of the same coin.

I watched as Roe v. Wade broke apart. I watched the highest court in the land conclude the President was above the law. I also seem to remember one party trying their darndest to sell the "Big Lie."

I watched the Democrats refuse to codify Roe for decades so they could use it as a fund raising cudgel.

I watched the Democrats pursue journalists for telling the truth about American war crimes.

I have watched them use the government to censor their opponents and punish them for speaking the truth.

I watched them work with the Republicans to destroy the last vestiges of the New Deal, create Too Big To Fail banks.

I watched the Democrats continue GWB's band bail out plans without alterations.

History is not on the side of liberals choosing the left over the fascists, and our political "leadership" has consistently shown they have nothing but disdain for history.

There is no chance they would pick a good candidate. The democratic party hates the left way more than they hate the fascists.
